FAQ
  - Q: What happened to justfilehosting.space
A: The domain name justfilehosting.space was suspended by Radix Registry for an unspecified reason. Attempts to contact the registry and resolve the issue were met with silence.

  - Q: So what happened to the files on justfilehosting.space
A: They're still here! Nothing happened to the server the files were on, just the old domain name is suspended and therefore inaccessible. If you have links to files from justfilehosting, you can simply replace 'justfilehosting.space' with 'leopard.hosting.pecon.us' in the URL and it will work.

  - Q: What is stopping leopard.hosting from getting suspended too?
A: Well, not much. The registry always has final say on that matter. However, I've since implemented a number of things that should reduce the chances of this happening again. This includes automatic malware screening and an improved abuse report system, among other things.

  - Q: Are files ever automatically removed?
A: Files are currently only removed if they are in violation of the rules. No automatic file removal is currently in place and none appears to be necessary for the foreseeable future.

  - Q: What is a 'delete password'?
A: If you set a delete password on your file, you will be able to later visit the delete file page and enter that password along with the file URL to permanently delete it (Passwords are always appropriately hashed with bcrypt). This isn't required if you want to remove your files, when you upload a file you also receive a 'delete URL' which can be visited to automatically delete the file. If you lose this URL and don't set a delete password, your file is effectively un-deleteable.

  - Q: Are there easier ways to upload than using the website?
A: Yes! If you are using Windows you can use ShareX to upload to Leopard hosting! All you have to do is install ShareX, and then import the custom uploader config into ShareX to start uploading seamlessly. ShareX will also automatically keep track of the download URL's and delete URL's for all your files automatically, which is very convenient if you need to find something you uploaded.

More discussion and info: https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/4m7ay6/teamviewer_has_been_hacked_they_are_denying/

Teamviewer has been pretty irresponsible about the whole situation, denying that they have been hacked and instead blaming users for having weak passwords. On the contrary, a number of users with strong passwords and two-factor authentication have been simultaneously compromised in a short time which makes a good case for them being hacked. I'd strongly advise uninstalling teamviewer and searching for evidence that your computer was used. If you were affected you'll need to make sure all your money is in the right place too, as the hackers have mostly been stealing money from users they compromise.

Off Topic / The Imgooblinator - Make the web sound hilarious
« on: May 24, 2016, 01:48:05 PM »
After years (days) of research and development, the Imgooblinator is finally ready for use. No more will you have to read boring proper writing (like this), with the Imgooblinator everything is hilariously dumb sounding. To get a feel of how it works, please review these provided samples.

Off Topic / justfilehosting.space turns one year old
« on: April 29, 2016, 01:30:09 PM »
Yep, it's true. My file hosting website leopard.hosting.pecon.us is now one year old as of today and is still receiving a large amount of traffic from Blockland users. If you haven't tried it out yet, you should give it a look!

Features:
 - Upload files up to 100MB
 - No advertising, tracking, or signing up of any sort.
 - No captcha under normal circumstances
 - Optionally add a password to your file so you can delete it later on
 - Optionally display the full filename in download URLs
 - Optionally display your file on the front page

Also this now serves as the new thread for justfilehosting since the original one died. Discuss hosting your files.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2016/03/10/surprise-nsa-data-will-soon-routinely-be-used-for-domestic-policing-that-has-nothing-to-do-with-terrorism/

It's been happening for years already, but it's now being declared more officially that data which the NSA gathers 'for the purpose of reducing terrorism' will now soon be legally admissible in domestic policing.

Quote from: Article
It’s all another sobering reminder that any powers we grant to the federal government for the purpose of national security will inevitably be used just about everywhere else. And extraordinary powers we grant government in wartime rarely go away once the war is over. And, of course, the nifty thing for government agencies about a “war on terrorism” is that it’s a war that will never formally end.

I think this officially debunks a number of common arguments against privacy advocacy (Such as 'You are fine if you are not a terrorist', you will soon be able to be charged with crimes by local police using NSA data). Have at it.

Off Topic / First ever ransomware for OSX in the wild is deployed
« on: March 07, 2016, 06:33:37 AM »
http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/03/first-mac-targeting-ransomware-hits-transmission-users-researchers-say/

Basically someone developed a ransomware program called KeRanger, and bundled it with downloads for the Transmission bittorrent client when their site was compromised. Basically anyone who downloaded Transmission 2.90 was potentially affected (there was a 24-34 hour timeframe where the website was compromised). 2.91 and above should be clean.

The software requested a 1 bitcoin ransom for the decryption of files on the afflicted machine.

Add-Ons / Exponential Rocket Launcher
« on: February 27, 2016, 01:53:16 AM »
Finally, a rocket launcher that fires rockets that split into smaller rockets that split into smaller rockets that split into smaller rockets!

Disclaimer: Probably less effective than your standard rocket launcher.

Normal version: Download
Overpowered* version: Download

Family fun: You can adjust how this weapon works! Open the server.cs file and some obvious values at the top of the file will allow you to make this weapon as insane as you want it. Tweak away!
*The rockets do not get smaller on each split in this version.

Add-Ons / Updated: Event_playSound (Originally by Space Guy)
« on: February 04, 2016, 08:02:44 AM »
This is the original Event_playSound mod by Space Guy, with two important differences.

 - Adds playsound output event for bots and vehicles (where applicable).
 - Removes declaration for playSound output on clients, since that was added to the default game.

As always this mod still has an output for minigames and normal players as well.

If you use the server status image script (Which was originally made by Destiny/Zack0Wack0) which I host on my website, I'd encourage you to switch your links over from serverstatus.pecon.us to serverstatus.block.land, as I will eventually take down the script from pecon.us.

To make your own status images, simply visit http://serverstatus.block.land/ and a guided form will load.

The script will remain available on pecon.us for at least a few more months, this will give everyone time to switch their links over.

As another reminder, I am always offering free subdomains on block.land for any Blockland-related sites or services. Just PM me.

Made through the efforts of Carbon Zypher and I, I present to you the new alternative to forum polls.

Example poll
Create a poll for anything Blockland

The thing that makes this polling system different from the forums and other normal polling sites is that vote.block.land requires all voters to use Blockland authentication to cast their vote (or to create a poll). This creates accountability for every vote and prevents poll manipulation.

This is a more convenient solution for polling the in-game community (considering a huge amount of players don't have forum accounts), since all that is needed to vote is a copy of Blockland. No formal sign-up is needed to vote.

To do:
Finish styling a few pages, including the authentication check.
Make the output of vote breakdown more organized.

Credits:
Pecon - Hosting, PHP scripting, MySQL wrangling, and initial (terrible) design.
Carbon Zypher - New page designs, and frontend Javascript.
Basically I did everything in the backend and Carbon designed all the pages that look at all good.

As a side note, I still am offering free subdomains on block.land. So if you have a blockland service or website and want to use block.land for it, feel free to PM me.

Off Topic / Internet privacy in the US is about to come to an end.

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/lawmakers-have-snuck-cisa-into-a-bill-that-is-guaranteed-to-become-a-law

Essentially, the famous 'CISA' spying bill that has been struck down multiple times over the past 5 years or so is about to become law. Is there anything to be done about it? At this point, not really. CISA has been attached to the upcoming major budget bill as a rider; meaning that it is almost guaranteed to pass because to not pass it would mean to not pass the budget bill, which would lead yet another government shutdown. Unfortunately the underlying issue is that sticking bills together like this had become far too common of a practice and is obviously poisonous to legislature since it means that unwanted laws can be weaseled into law by simply attaching them to something more important and unlikely to be opposed.

Discuss how broken American politics are.
