Bump, because 1am posts don't usually get looked at.

I've promoted dargereldren's ShareX config on the frontpage since it's pretty useful.

Also, I've fixed some configurations on the server side which should fix larger uploads timing out really easily.

General Discussion / Re: blockland not authing for anyone else?

well nobody really checks help and the point was that i was wondering if anyone else had the same issue because that's really the only thing i can see doing
People do check help, you'd probably just need a tiny bit more patience. You're just posting in the wrong place in an attempt to gain the 'express lane' for help.

Thanks for actually reporting the file this time, whoever.

i like actually knowing what i'm clicking on lol
Not that it matters much since all files are served as attachments, you're presented the file name in the download dialog. I could add a vanity security feature which appends the file name as a variable to the url, and verifies it for you so you can't be sent a link with a false file name. But I'm not going to make the url's just the file name, because I want the site to be able to host any amount of files with the same exact name.

looks like you didnt see my message :/

I did get your message, but this page is the only way I could have actually received the information needed to do anything about it after it fell off the public list a half an hour later.

Meh. There's so very little to gain from that.

  • Filter your input for the filename, as it is possible to do some simple html injections
I was actually just working on this as I realized that was possible as soon as I saw the weird text links in the pictures above. That's all fixed, and I also added some constraints on how the file name is displayed so it doesn't stretch the page.

  • Make your url shortened to 5-6 characters instead of a huge hash. (I think it'll be a fun challenge to setup)
Okay sure, I guess that's not a bad idea.

  • You can also use pretty urls as well, which you can configure in .htaccess
......what is a 'pretty url'

  • Perhaps a bootstrap themed style?
Not going to bother.

Modification Help / Re: Some questions, again

-Why does exec(); sometimes crash a server? I'm not facing this issue, I just want to know so I can make my own force run script for any add-on.
Only two reasons why it ever would.

- The code you're executing just crashes in whatever context you're using it.
or
- You executed code which contains local variables (outside of functions) in the global scope (aka: the black box console).

I like how someone uploaded a bunch of files called 'blhack.dll' and similar things and nobody actually had the audacity to try and report the files.

Really?

Now with an optional recent files list.

Add-Ons / Re: Slayer | Question about new team GUI
« on: May 06, 2015, 05:39:15 AM »
the AIConnection class was removed entirely for a reason that afaik was never explained
He claimed it was because of the memory leak in them, people always using them for the wrong purpose, and also that all the functions needed to control bots were member functions of the aiPlayer anyways.

But they had a few cool other properties to them that you can't do with anything else, so I wasn't totally sold on the whole deal. Nothing really to be done about it now though.

While I don't have any plans to shut this down, it's probably still advisable not to host anything on it that truly needs to last a long time.

I'm bored now. Would anyone find it amusing if I added a 'make public' checkbox on the upload form that makes the file show up on a public list of recent uploads?
