Well, here's my desktop. Low-res and the icons look odd with the black background, but it inspires me to play fullscreen games.

I have to say, it's easier to get into than you think. You can glitch through the walls with a magic carpet, or just blow holes in it with a tank or rocket launcher. People in towers will get sniped easily, etc.

You could make decals that people download when they join the server. I don't think sprays like in Source games are possible, though.
