Swollow, i understand why you're resentful, i really do (i also agree that badspot needs to get a bit of a grip)

but i seriously recommend you try to let go of that anger and blame, i held resentment towards this place for years and it negatively impacted my life without me realizing. 

letting go and forgiving is not condoning the actions or agreeing with anyone, it's nothing more than taking the weight off your own shoulders and not allowing the people who hurt you to have power in your life.

it's going to be okay.

also try to remember what you're doing at your current age vs what trolls did at the same age back then, and that should tell you that you're far better off than any of them.

Badspot's opinions are wacky and he's really out there, but it shouldn't bother you that much. don't even worry about it and just breath.

you seem like you went through some stuff but seriously, you just beat life on hard mode and should be proud of that.


who should we even blame for this kind of stuff?

i blame the 2000s. i blame ignorance towards mental illness and the internet.

i blame the times and the society we lived in for endorsing that kind of behavior. a lot of us hid this kind of stuff from our parents, leaving them unable to properly supervise us.

i used to hold badspot and his moderation responsible, but i realized he was unable to control the community due to either his own mental issues or not understanding the depth of internet harassment. i'm not excusing the type of stuff he allowed to fester, i'm just saying i don't blame him for it.

hell, the way he discusses and views the opposite love could be evident women treated him badly, we don't know what happened in his life.

At one point i began blaming the community as a whole, then i realized not everyone was responsible or "knew better"

finally i blamed the perpetrators themselves, but then i realized something probably happened in their life to make them act like a richard or want to kick down at children.

the ones that turned into freaks were probably touched, this does not excuse child enthusiasm, obviously, but it's a true fact. loveual predators usually come from a long string of abuse that never got properly dealt with. they are forgeted up and sick in the head, obviously not condoning their actions, and yes they should still be held responsible for such actions.

i'm just saying if society had given them the proper help at a young age they could probably recover and be a normal person. (yes i know some people are just wicked and do it for no reason, those are the ones that need to be punished/executed/locked up/whatever)

there is probably some kind of weird psychological stuff we don't understand yet. there is probably something mentally going on with the people who used the internet at a young age, we were the first generation exposed to this kind of technological bullstuff during a crucial age.

so in short, i just blame the world for being a forgeted up place. we grew up in a really weird time (i don't need to explain how trashy the 2000s were) and just need to do what we can to end the cycle and deal with these newfound issues that literally did not exist 40 years ago.

So for about a year i've been making these N64/PS1/Dreamcast era models (My main inspiration is stuff like Ape Escape)

Some people have also said it's reminiscent of 2000s MMORPGS, which i also sort of go for. :D

this is one year of progress, both of these models were made in August, almost on the exact day lmao



when i made this i only knew 2d, and really struggled to get him rigged/animate his face. so i never made anymore renders of him, i think it'd be smarter to remake this one to match my updated style.





i made another one and i was really proud so i made multiple renders. i managed to get this one rigged and even animated the face :3

i was originally going to make a 20 minute thing, using both some 2d and 3d animation, but i dropped it; i just got too overwhelmed cause i'm not very experienced in animation.



edit: i also use the compositor to get the pixel effect in blender

zoomers don't understand forums and see them as outdated, i bet most of them think that a forum is what discords implementation of them are.

stuff like discord moves too fast to ever be used in the same fashion, but it kind of makes sense because i don't think kids in the latest generation even have the capacity to discuss something for more than a few minutes at a time. i'd say all kids are like that but that doesn't explain the large amount of children in the 2000s who used forums.

discord is amazingly convenient good for chatting, but chatrooms move way too quickly and it's not fun showing off things in a chatroom cause it will often be buried, even if people see it at the time... there's people that get on later who don't see stuff

it is interesting to see how much of an impact these forums had especially in a pretty critical period of development (pretty much all of middle school for me). looking back, exposure to all the toxic garbage being spewed on here really was not normal. hard to be surprised considering the complete lack of moderation and acceptance/glorification of badspot's laziness and apathy for this community. harassment and abuse was pretty much entertainment for people as we all just accepted it as "it is what it is" pretty much. my hope is that most people who were avid members here for a while were not heavily effected by their experiences on here. i sometimes wonder if engaging on these forums has ever been a detriment to my development in any way, i hope not but i could definitely see that being the case for some

i definitely agree with all that. while i can look back and laugh at these things now because it's so absurd (and everyone was so loving edgy), i will admit that some of the crap on here affected me for a long time. i don't think it stunted my development, per say, some of things on here definitely negatively impacted me as a teen. i had an awful lot of self confidence issues and even felt insecure about my own disability when everyone just referred to me as a cripple.

however, i eventually learned how to find worth within my self and no longer require validation from people on the internet if i'm pretty or if it's okay for me to be who i am. the only persons' opinion i care about is mine and my husbands'.  he thinks highly of my looks, i also can look in the mirror and say i look good.

i also dont hold it against people who just went along with it because they wanted validation or to fit in themselves, especially if they were within my age group.

hell, I even forgive some of the people who really messed with me or had drama with me because it's the past and furthermore, a lot of the people doing that stuff were probably damaged or mistreated at some point in their life.

people like lord tony probably had been their mom's ashtray and that's what led to them constantly loving with people as some kind of way to cry out.

badspot's apathy and laziness might even be a result of some sort of mental illness for all we know, he does not act like a normal person. i'm not a psychologist at all, but it does not take an expert to know that a lot of people on here are crazy forgeted up

of course this isn't really me trying to justify it or excuse some of the more extreme behavior (such as the private investigating and harassment people such as my husband had gone through).... just saying this place is like an unstaffed mental asylum and i went from hating most of the people on here, to just feeling sorry for a lot of them.

i once was the one crying over stuff on here like a little bitch but now i just think "what the forget happened in your life to make you put down little kids?" and through a screen at that. as a 25 year old woman, i certainly don't feel the need to stuff on 12 year olds to make myself feel better or to find entertainment

the more extreme headcases who were like 20s-30s cussing out, private investigating and harassing little kids (that's not even touching on the ones that wanna go inside them) probably wouldn't have the balls to approach some kid at the park and say "Hey kid you're ugly and stupid and everything you make is gay!" so they attacked people smaller than themselves over the internet. just makes me pity them to be honest.

i can kind of already predict people will say i'm victimizing myself or say i want attention but it is what it is, i'm just being honest \_(ツ)_/

sep 5 sep 10 is pretty narrow and pretty far from halloween, the whole month of october or at least a large portion of it would be a lot better

What the forget is this?

It is a community made terrain build similar to Badspot's Block Party or many of the City Build's I've done in the past.
 
In order to build the terrain, we'll use the cube bricks and you'll build a plot that connects to the rest of the terrain.

You can either contribute to the build or just explore the spookiness. You don't need to be good at building in order to contribute.

When the forget will it be hosted?

The server will start September 25th, and stay up until late November.

We want to give people enough time to build before October.

Why the forget make the thread now?

With how slow traffic is to the forums, it's smart to inform everyone early.

It also gives everyone time to start gathering other builders and friends or make suggestions.

(If you know any addons that would be fitting and you'd like to see on the server, please suggest)

What loving version will this be hosted on?

Nowadays multiple versions of BL can be easily accessed (Thank you to B4v21 <3)

This is another thing that hasn't been exactly decided, but it will likely be either V21 or Blockland Rebuilt.

Regardless, it needs to have working shaders for extra spoOoOky

What the forget can I do?

There will probably be heavily evented builds (like spooky carnivals), so you can just forget around and explore

You could build (wow!)

Join just to chill, chat, touch your snake, etc.

You can start a minigame

You can even have gay furry RP love (epic bro)

Blockland's peak was the early 2010s when there was about a steady average of 400 - 600 active players

Seeing this hurts my very soul. Having originally joined Blockland in 2006 and watching its rise and fall it hits hard. I really hope there's a resurrection
