I decided to do a bit of research, it seems that VGA is capable of that sort of res and such. Makes me wonder though, what is the advantage HDMI has?

3666
wait can't a VGA output 1080p just fine?
It can output it but you won't experience the same way as an HDMI. I think

3667
Um, Pie Crust, when are sparks with VGA wires normal?

Also, guys, I finally upgraded to a bigger monitor. I'm currently in a much larger resolution.
http://i.imgur.com/1ZbU42b.png dat res tho, I just need an HDMI and I can get that 1080P HD. My eyes are currently adjusting to the new monitor, I'm so used to the quality of CRT.

3668
you can get hdmi cables for like six dollars
I sadly only have $4 in a change jar. My grandpa is buying the monitor for me (I guess its because I work in exchange for nothing) and I'd hate to ask him for one. I didn't even ask for this monitor, he just straight up said were going to find a monitor. Once we found one he put it on hold and got the money from his account.
We are picking it up later.

Today while working on someones truck it turns out someone had a lift kit arm held on by simple wiring.. He didn't even bother replacing the missing bolt. Luckily enough we had some extra bolts for it in the bolt drawer so we kindly fixed it up for him.

Working in a mechanics shop (its actually considered a classroom but we actually do customer cars and whatnot) tends to bring around some jaw dropping rig-ups and such. Some cars are just dirty as hell, others are rigged with coat hangers and duct tape. Its so sad to see the mistreatment of some of these vehicles.

it depends on the monitor and where you're getting it
generally you can find out what parts are included
Alright, I'll check before leaving. I doubt we'll have the money to get an HDMI if not, but I do know it comes with the standard hookup which I can use until then. That or I can dig one out of the garage if there is one.

When buying monitors, does the HDMI usually come with it or is it sold separately? I can't find anything saying it does or doesn't.

is the rift worth my money?
*clears throat* hardly. Its a mess of wires and its a pain in the ass. For what? For a handful of games you can play with it. Half of them will give you motion sickness more than likely.

I personally wouldn't get one.

I've been thinking about saving up for one. I'd love to play any first person shooter like Metro or TF2 with it. Heck even Minecraft
Its currently a prototype so I'd have to say to hold off on it until its complete. Right now its a mess.

Did you try the rollercoaster demo? If so, did you get vertigo? I got vertigo and fell even though I knew that it was all fake.
I did not try that because I'm currently trying not to throw up just from walking. Battling some sickness or something.

is it fun
The demos were pretty neat for what they were, tomorrow I'm going to try to install it to my PC and play TF2 with it.

And I'm here to write a little review.

Backstory: my sister bought it and had me install it while she was at work. And so I did.
It took two and a half hours just to get it to install correctly due to the fact that the book was awfully vague with instructions. It was a very stressful experience, now that may just have been because I was using it on my sisters laptop. Her laptop isn't the best.

Once I got it all hooked up (after about 6+ guides and reading the book) I managed to get a game working. I played around with it and once I  got settled in I learned that it was actually pretty neat, on more than one occasion I tried to reach out to grab stuff because of its depth. Regardless the unrealistic graphics in the demos it can trick your brain.

The headset itself was surprisingly light for what it was, it required pretty much no adjustment for me.

And that is my review, Q&A anyone?
