when everything had its own website, be it a game, a game server, or just a community based around a topic.

today everything is just centralised onto a subpar social media platform like discord, and we all complain about it when they do something stupid for the 20th time this year. but nobody is willing to get off these platforms and start something of their own, free from the stuff we have to put up with when using a big name, out of touch, buggy platform.
twitter's stuffshow is proof that no matter how bad it gets people will never leave their collapsing platform, but will absolutely continue to moan about it and threaten moving to whatever alternate platform is being developed at the time, of which a few will do for a week then come crawling straight back once they realise nobody else moved over with them.

the real kicker is that we used to be able to do this - digg fell catastrophically when they began loving up which gave way to reddit, and now that reddit is loving up they're still standing strong as the alternate platforms that popped up return to obscurity.
its the same with twitter now being X and you can only read like 1000 posts a day or some stupid stuff

you put it into words much better than i could have

being on small forums is a breath of fresh air but i truly wish that this place was more active

i've also been visiting another forum for petz, which somehow is more alive than this place D:

another thing i miss is nightcore being all over YouTube and just early 2000s weeaboo stuff, i think i originally made an anime megathread years ago at the peak of being a weeb online.

sad and edgy AMVs are also a thing of the past sadly, and anime fan art also had a certain kind of vibe to it

Why do you care?
Damn fine question.

Peavy speaking :
Soukuw is full of stuff. He was a complete richard to her

When she left him for me after a long time of mistreatment, from there began the saga of Soukuw's rage. He has always hated me due to the bandwagon of "southerners bad" or whatever. When he discovered that we were together he lost his mind.

He kept trying to harass her into playing blockland. He joined my server and demanded to be in a Skype call because he couldn't handle us enjoying time together.
From there a series of events took place to where he lost his mind and kept telling the server "HE STOLE MY loving GIRLFRIEND" as if anyone cared or knew what the forget he's going on about.

saturday morning cartoons that didn't suck
I didn't even know Saturday cartoons still existed at all

i kind of assumed fox box / 4kidz was like the last of them lol i used to get up every weekend at like 7AM so i could watch the entire 4kidz block

which kind of reminds me of old anime dubs... they have a certain kind of cheese to them you don't really see anymore

I found out about it back whenever Blockland was still actually advertising itself online.
When I was young, I was on the Roblox homepage when I saw a banner add for the game. I immediately checked the website out that it lead to in great interest. I was absolutely enamored by the Lego style look and fun creative gameplay. I asked my mother and father If they could purchase the game for me.

I begged for 3 days until they finally did LMAO

Once I had the game (which I was playing on my Mother's old windows XP E-machine) I was hooked. The people and cool mods that were on servers just blew my mind. I made so many good memories playing zombie survival servers, freebuilds, and some random RP's lol.

Thank you all for making all of that happen. It was a really cool and core part of my childhood :)
I seen an ad for it on Roblox sometime in the late 2000s as well

I was instantly interested in it because i'm a sucker for sandboxes lol

BL is really unique and one of the few games of its kind.

There's a lot of building games but not a whole lot actually feel like Legos

I just genuinely do miss forums like this that were for a specific theme or extremely small game. I cling to this one and a few other small ones but overall i really miss when we frequently perused like 5 websites or communities rather than it all being lumped onto one platform and they were active

Discord has overall done a good job at feeling the void of niche communities, but sometimes chat rooms just go too fast to have long conversations

I might make another anime megathread, maybe that would give us stuff to talk about

trolling caught up with him IRL lmao

which I kind of assumed was him trolling as well, and am still confused if that was real or if he was being serious about it

if it helps I'm actually trans so you kinda hit the nail
lol that's actually pretty interesting cause i'm not trans necessarily but i kind of went through a gender identity rollercoaster myself

I used to have some really toxic mindsets as a kid, but i would go to anime club and cosplay as male characters, which kind of made me feel confused about myself

In high school it actually got to a point where i was trying to transition FtM, but that did not really feel right either so i kind of linger between male and female nowadays (which is easy because if you remember the whole "lizzy is hairy as forget" thing i actually am super hairy because I have a hormonal imbalance XD)

i'm not sure if you'd call it genderfluid, non-binary, or genderqueer or what have you. it's weird but some days i wake up feeling comfortable being a girl but other times i want to be a guy, so I just cross-dress. i'm also not sure if i am just a cis-gendered who cross-dresses, but i no longer feel the need to label it

Luckily my current partner is really supportive of my identity and helps me to express myself, a lot of people in my past couldn't accept me for who i was which is probably what led to the confusion in my youth

is there something personal going on here you'd like to share with the room soukuw

i want context for soukuw apparently being followed?? https://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=327467.msg10068192#msg10068192

as a 13 year old i was a lil drama starting bitch :cookieMonster: i created lots of friendships, had falling outs, dated people, broke hearts, burned bridges, etc... and a lot of people here have been scorned by me

but now as a 25 year old person, I couldn't care less about drama i had in the past. i've been dating the same guy for roughly 8 years now, we've been married for at least 5, i've practically forgotten a majority of friends i had or people i might have dated

however there is context behind the post I made 2 years ago: i like went the forget off on here, mainly because i was called crippled a lot (which i no longer care about as i get older) and felt kind of taken advantage of (these are the people i will never forgive).

over time i kind of separated the ones who hurt me immensely from the ones who only hurt me on a small scale, and that's why i give forgiveness to some people.

i have no shame in showing my emotions so i never really tried to cover it up. i was angry at a handful of people, but got over it, made my peace and moved on

anyone who knows me knows i struggle with mental problems anyway, i will admit i'm nuts, but i got help for that and who i am today just kind of laughs at who i was back then... so I've been revisiting this place for mad nostalgia :p

omg if it rlly is u, i always feel an intense guilt for bullying tf outta you

hope ur doing well

i figured you were someone who messed with me a little bit, which is why I chose to reply and try to take a bit of guilt off your shoulders, i should have replied sooner :p

i am actually doing pretty well, only really dealing with normal "adult stress" nowadays like bills and stuff

I only harbor negative feelings towards a very small handful of people on here, and the people who just trolled me aren't included in that, i forgive them and you cause that's just what we did back then

also i vaguely recognize your avatar, if you're the guy i'm thinking of, you might've got my first account deleted cause i implied you and the guy who had this account were gay (and it was my 5th ban) which is kind of hilarious to me nowadays XD

don't even worry about it, we were all dumb ass kids on here and i look back on it as the "trololololo days"

i hope you're doing great as well  :cookie:

The greatest enemy i ever encountered in terraria are the loving NPCs unless you actually imprison them. Usually i will have to block doors from opening in a certain direction so they dont let zombies and other stuff in

early game it's really annoying to have a bunch of mobs invade your house when you have stuff gear
