Mini empires.
Build a mini nation, build a mini army.
Trade and war amongst each other.
Most are era specific ex. Medieval, modern, futuristic, tribal.
Rules are usually implemented on making an "invincibile" or overpowered nation that could destroy another with just one snap of the finger.
