glad to see this is still a happening!
Me too, I don't want to sound dramatic or anything, but if we don't find someone who could be willing to help with the maps, the game won't happen, and that worries me the most, if anyone here wants to try out please tell here or send me a PM, I have a steam and skype accounts too.

Will really big maps do?
(as in, it makes you feel like you are driving a toy car)
If so, i'll make a few.
This is not supposed to be a game with toy cars

I've never actually worked with fbx before in all my years of modeling. It seems by the pre alpha video you released that there are parts of the map that have special properties, such as glowing, textures, etc.

I don't know how well this will translate from Sketchup to FBX but I could try at some point. I'll notify you if I ever find success in my experiments.
Nah those are settings we change inside Unity, don't worry about it.

If I had time I would help, I used unity a lot back in the day.
Well technically you don't have to worry about unity, we just need someone who can model and then export the map as .fbx so we can import it in the game.

General Discussion / Re: blockland is the best game ever
« on: February 18, 2016, 03:15:45 PM »
After i got blockland, alot of my time was me being lazy playing the game. I vividly renember servers like Heedicalking s' Siege.

Theres some things lacking once you first play the game, but with experience you know how to recreate those features you want using mods or events.

It still sucks my brother does never want to play this game because of its graphics. Hes quite picky. If he has bad expectations of a game,he will be saying theres stuff thats bad or missing even if its there and he only played for like a minute.

Dont get fooled by the demo because servers are one of the best parts of the game.
No offense but your brother is stupid.

Games / Autoworld - We need someone who can 3D Model Maps
« on: February 18, 2016, 03:10:26 PM »

Me, BluetoothBoy and A.P.X are working on a racing game called Autoworld, we have a tumblr page explaining it further.
http://autoworldgame.tumblr.com/
It's a Open World racing game, we plan to have several maps for players to drive around, do missions and races, but sadly we're having trouble in making the models of the maps themselves, so we're looking for someone who can help modelling the roads, terrains and some structures, do you have a skill for that or know anyone who modelled a map before or could have a glance at it? Please contact us, thanks a lot, if you have any questions feel free to ask, the design of the maps is simple, something like this video below.

If you make it out of 1x1 plate bricks it would have a "better" resolution

Blockland made me learn a lot of things, I have to thank this game and it's community for that.

I prefer mixed brown or dark, and there must be sugar, can't stand coffee without it.

Off Topic / Re: Who/what inspired you to start modeling?
« on: February 18, 2016, 09:18:17 AM »
Oh boy here we go..

So it all started back in 2011, I saw that we had very few vehicles that interested me in Blockland so I wanted to start modelling my own, which I got inspired by my friend Ragref to do it, I've watched some milkshape 3D tutorials to help me out and my very first model was this.

An attempt at a Renault 5, and ever since I tried improving my modelling skills, a few friends of mine which made add-ons before also helped me so I could learn how to make them work in-game, like Barnabas for example who awnsered a lot of my questions, I am very thankful for them and I still model stuff today, for comparison here is one of my latest models.

Because 3DMM is still the best animation program ever.
