I feel like everything that should be said has been said and Badspot either doesn't care or is ignoring it.

people are just arguing for the sake of arguing now

I'm not gonna say anything about whether or not you do wanna work on the game, or you don't. It isn't any of my business to assume really.
what the hell was the point of making this thread then

Well it's relevant and it isn't. I didn't want to make a topic because I wanted some closed circuit opinions on this, since I know most of you are level headed enough to make rational opinions on this.
I try to avoid this thread, and I'm not the only one. I don't really know why I even got here. You should probably put it in a different topic or in the Iban drama.

Weird place to bring this up, but I'd rather not make a topic on it. It's relevant to this thread enough for me to post this. So.

With the recent thing in Drama with Iban 5s and Heed getting banned and all this "development and stuffty community" vomit, I began to think about what actually makes this community "bad". Personally I have a love hate relationship here. If I didn't truly enjoy this place I would have left a while ago but you guys are lots of fun and I have many memories here. So, why do people think this community is stuff? Well to put this in perspective I will use experiences from other community/forums I've been to (not naming anything). The places I've been to have been mature, level headed, friendly (for the most part). Maybe it's the age of most users here that are "degrading" the quality of community? Lack of maturity? I'd go with the latter. There are "older" users here that still display poor social skills. I've noticed that in threads with more tight-knit users like this one, and the pony thread, people are mostly friendly and reeeeelatively mature (feels ironic but it is what it is). I see far less problem users out of these threads than those who just wander this forum without much "community allegiance". Those who have proven to be problem users also prove to be, usually, self centered and volatile. I think it's rather ignorant to also call places that don't have the kind of "hate" we have here as hugboxes. Forums I've been to that have just the same amount of leniency here has far less problem users; it's like the equivalent of this thread on a forum scale.

Just my 2 pennies. :>
<3 yall
There are so many problem users because they are given the chance to return for only 10$.

Burn-out happens. A lot of project fail because of this.
Then give this "project" to someone who would care

The progress is forget it.  Believe it or not, programming is to some degree a creative endeavor and requires some motivating factor other than the temporary cessation of shrieking children.

People like brown towningus too.  Why don't you go down to the bus station and give the people what they want?
You seem to have developed a hatred for your own game.

Oh yeah, lets look at the latest critical masterwork from the Blockland steam reviews:

He brings up a good point, I know that I for one look for at least 3000 hours of entertainment out of the $10 indie games that I buy.  To only get 2100 is truly pathetic.  Also, the devs need to provide free updates forever - like an mmo except no cookie cutter content, just brilliant never before seen stuff over and over for no additional payment.  I can't just play the same game over and over, so I need them to make my old games into new games - over and over.  I mean I paid ten whole dollars.  That's like 3/4ths of a 3D movie ticket.
As you may have overlooked, there are people who have played thousands of hours into this game because they liked this game you can't just force massive game changing updates and expect those people to be happy. And since you are obviously just in this for money now (maybe you always were?), why don't you just go ahead and revert the game back to when it had terrain and when the community was actually happy. And to make sure all your "hard work" to make shadows and shaders doesn't go to waste, just throw out a Blockland 2 with shadows and shaders as the highlighted feature. Hell add hats while you are at it.

It would be nice if you would give us a little progress on some updates. People like developers that are open about their development. The last update was February, so a large number of the players from the steam sales haven't even seen any progress on the game.

You like to pull the "I'm the developer so deal with it" thing a lot, but have you even read the steam reviews? You are starting to irritate the userbase.

I'm literally not.
I'm just trying to get my point across that zone's shouldnt be used.
If you aren't trying to start stuff, then I apologize for jumping on you. But in my defense you have a history of trying to start something over nothing where you have little to no leg to stand on for your defense.

"back in the day"?
I got blockland long before you, where we didn't even have the ability to turn rendering off.
Also, Boost's may use zone's too.

please stop trying to stuff on everything. I have valid points and you are just trying to start more stuff.

a lot of these builds are using zone bricks, if they're allowed to use them, then its not really one brick, is it?
Back in the day before zone bricks we had to build support bricks and turn rendering off.
You say "a lot" and the only questionable one is RedJohn's build, and I'm sure it doesn't.

Stop trying to poke holes in things.
