Ah, but conception starts the whole process in motion, not meiosis. Meiosis being the start of human life would make every unused sperm or egg a murder.

You can't have conception without gametes, so really meiosis is where 'human life' begins.

How do we decide when life begins?
Unless you bring some proof, then life begins at conception, just to be safe.

Prove that life starts at conception. Why can't life, say, start at meiosis? Human life cannot form without gametes.

Your eyes flutter open and you awake in a room whose walls are completely white. There is no visible source of light, but the room is bright as noon. You pace across the room and estimate it's a cube of about 20 feet by 20 feet. The only decoration on the wall is a clock in each wall. Each clock is set into the wall and covered by thick glass. One clock reads 2:34, another reads 12:40, another reads 5:55 and the last reads 12:00. None are ticking but each sounds at a random interval. You look down over yourself and you are completely naked. You sink your feet into the floor and realize it's made of soft rubber. You tap the walls, and they sound solid.

What do you do?

Those different sets of DNA in those rare cases are all that person's DNA, however the DNA of an unborn child is different as it is a mix of someone else's DNA and the mother's DNA.

It's the same with a chimaeric human. Two different sets of possible combinations of their mother's and father's DNA.

Example A of our dehumanization of unborn children..

That's the point. They're NOT BORN. When do we consider someone's life to begin? WHEN THEY ARE BORN.
