But really the only two FPSes that could be relatively similar are BF3 and CoD but even then they are different games spare the modern setting and shooting.
What I stated in my previous posts were every new version of one of these series seems like a clone of its predecessor with re-skinned weapons, a few new maps, and *maybe* a new mechanic every 2-3 reproductions.

Not that the two games themselves are copies of each other.

Interesting. I've never played StoneQuest, but the idea of going further than a BL server sounds neat.

I highly doubt 6 people will work out though.
It's going to be highly debatable whether or not the modelers' models will be proportionate in size with other modelers' models, and if you have more than two coders, not all of the code may be compatible, often requiring a big jumbling of each contribution into one build, and people are going to be humping each other to get their input and ideas out. You also have no guarantee that these people have the skill to develop a project like this. Never done a team project for those reasons, but that's my guess.

It'll more likely than not be a disorganized mess, and never leave design or pre-alpha/alpha phase.

Good luck though.

Whats wrong with Call of Duty ? I see no problem with liking it while disliking Battlefield 3 and Minecraft..
It just seems like they're the exact same game with a few new maps and guns and a slight improvement in graphics, and the only reason they're still around is because of multiplayer.

I dislike COD and BF3. But it's a taste. Personally, I can't stand a perfectly-designed game. Sometimes I do like to see bad graphics, because sometimes it tells me they are focussed on the gameplay.

I just don't give a flying fadoodle of how it looks like.
This.
I'm probably the only one who plays DF with the original ASCII tileset.
Although when it gets to the point that colored symbols are burned into my eyelids, I'll switch to graphical for a while.

I don't like Call of Duty, Battlefield or any other shooters similar to them.
It just seems like they're the exact same game with a few new maps and guns and a slight improvement in graphics, and the only reason they're still around is because of multiplayer. Take that out, and you've killed the cash cow.

I bought minecraft when it was in alpha for $10 or w/e maybe it was less and I've only played it like an hour total and if I could I would return it and get my money back.
gimme

No. I have never given out my key to anyone. EVER.
Still, have you used it on multiple computers?
I think that has been known to cause issues.

I would delete 'Client_SyerjchepRTB'

Also post your console w/ trace

 http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=185075.0
The console I attached was traced.
Not from the beginning, but just before I tried to save bricks.
I'll trace another one when I'm able.

I reinstalled my Blockland to start at a fresh slate. Downloaded only from RTB, plus RTB itself.
Now VC++ bitches at me on startup too.
Must be my computer.

Is there any way that your key may be in use somewhere else?
Hope this doesn't mean you're banned.

It's your internet.  No other explanation.

Except you can modify hardware details in this menu
Through a way intended by its designers.
Not by forging your own interface to exploit security flaws to tamper with hidden data.

What do you want me to do.
With my model tv (Panasonic CT-30WX54J) You press a series of buttons in specific order opening up the the service menu, where you can adjust about anything on your TV. This is what TV repair people use, and you have to be really careful about changing stuff in itI'm not technically supposed to have access to the service menu. Its supposed to be used by TV repair shops and such.
That is not hacking.
Hacking is hijacking or exploiting features of a larger object. For example, using Assembly to 'hack' hardware on playstations, either to modify hardware details or to leech data.
Another thing which could be considered hacking is modifying hardware in your computer to refine some details, like maybe overclocking.

Congrats on finding'hacking' a menu on your TV, though.

Help / Re: How to make and pot decals that work?
« on: February 11, 2012, 05:21:03 PM »
Offtopic, but your avatar looks like a strap-on, microsnake carrot.

TOPTIP: Don't make decals before you learn this:

1. Make it blockish.

2. Learn how to make it symmetric (It looks better, trust me) (BUT ONLY IN SOME PLACES.)
This. Any image editing tool that isn't completely and entirely stuff allows some way to flip an image so that you can make one half of something, press a button, and there's an exact copy on the opposing side of it.

What do you people do to your copies of Blockland?

I mean seriously, I've never even heard of a Fatal-ISV error in Blockland until this month and now it seems like everyone has it. I have never ever had Blockland at the point where it actually won't start in my life. Even when I forgeted up making my own code I fixed it and restarted, how do you people manage to break it so badly?
This.

So funny to see this bus popping up everywhere. I've never expected this bus to become that popular.

I don't think this is worth a gallery topic. The bus wasn't made by you, and all you did was add maybe 50 bricks to it.
