Overall, Google Chrome smashes all other browsers in usage of Java and Flash player.

on steam go to preferences and put
Code: [Select]
-dxlevel 80
in console or
Code: [Select]
-dxlevel 8
Took me a second to figure out wtf you were trying to say.
WOLFPACK2 don't take directions from this guy, he obviously doesn't know what hes talking about.

What me meant to say is right click GMOD-> preferences-> set launch options -> and enter "-dxlevel 80" without the quotation marks.

Actually I don't know if this will work or not but I'm really just clarifying on vv45689's TERRIBLE directions.

Help / Re: I need help downloading blockland.

There is a 4 GB card.
Bu for 160 $.
It's new from DELL.
Also, NEVER buy parts from dell, they are ALWAYS overpriced and you can always find them for cheaper elsewhere, like newegg.

Just because a graphics card has a lot of RAM DOES NOT mean it is powerful. Generally a card with more RAM  performs better but it is not the most important factor in its performance/speed. A good graphics card has a good GPU (graphics processing unit) which is what accounts for the cards processing power.
I have never seen an mainstream gaming graphics card that has 4GB of ram in it, the only cards that I have seen with that much RAM are professional workstation graphics cards, which fine for gaming, but they have the same performance as a gaming graphics card that costs 1/8 of the price of a workstation graphics card.
Can you not read?

On all of those, I am telling the truth!
How would you feel if you were me, your account was hacked by your own brother, and everyone is flaming you, quoting you and editing the quotes to insult yourself, everyone was calling you a spammer and being sarcastic!?
HUH!?

Ohhhh yeah I'm SURE your brother has the knowledge to actually hack into the database of stored passwords for the forums and get YOUR password. If you are telling the truth about him using your account to spam the forums (which is pretty dam unlikely in my opinion), then maybe you should not be a handicap and not use the same password for everything or use 123456 as your password....

Sorry, no.
Why the forget would I pay $19.95 for Blockland!?
For a ONE TIME PAYMENT of $20, blockland gives you ALL features with no additional costs, unlike roblox which requires a monthly payment to get all of its features. You end up spending more money on Roblox for something that should be free.

The forums are good enough.
Good enough for what? being hated by nearly everyone who has seen your posts/topics and posting comments that nobody cares about?

In Roblox, I had like 900 forum posts, was really well liked, and rich in virtual currency.
These are not the Roblox forums. I would say the forums here have much higher standards of intelligence then the Roblox forums, so just because handicapped 10 year olds liked you there, doesn't mean that older and significantly more mature people will respect you here. 900 posts is also a pretty small number of posts.

That is an example of spam.
I think that your random crappy posts should count as spam...

Off Topic / Re: The nature of school.
« on: December 08, 2009, 11:21:53 PM »

My thought process is this: If I went to class, listened to every morsel of information the teacher had to offer and absorbed it completely and tested perfectly on it. 98-100+% on every single test, quiz, and exam I took but didn't do a single piece of homework or any project at all I would fail miserably. However, if I did the converse and did every project and piece of homework but bombed every test I can almost guarantee my GPA would be higher than the perfect-tests-no-homework approach.

Ergo, test<homework.

I agree with everything else you said, except what is in bold because that really depends on how the grading system works for your school. For example, the school system where I lives requires that tests and projects make up 50% of your grade for the class, quizzes and classwork make up 40%, and homework makes up 10%. Because of this grading system, even if the teacher makes a homework assignment worth 10000000 points and you get 100% on that homework assignment, it will still only be 10% of your grade for that class, so if you completely fail everything else in the class that is worth, say a total of 500 points, you would still fail the class because you only got a 10%. . This means that you have to pay much more attention to doing well on tests (Because you also cant retake them if you fail). The big problem here is that there is a much smaller incentive to actually do your homework because if you get lets say, a total of 89% in the other two categories, you would really only have to complete one or two homework assignments to get an A in the class.

Good GFX but, I think that the CPU is bad:

Actualy koolkody12, the first one you suggested has a much better CPU then the other 4 you recommended. Intel processors perform significantly better then AMD processors running at the same Clock speed. In other words, that 2.33 Ghz Intel quad core in the first computer you suggested its on par or better then the CPU's in the other 4 you recommended. Also the first computer you recommended also has MUCH better graphics card than the other 4.

Off Topic / Re: PC upgrade suggestions?
« on: December 08, 2009, 07:31:11 PM »
I agree with Miga, it wold be a much better idea to just build a new computer because you cant upgrade your processor to anything that is significantly more powerful without getting a new motherboard. Same goes for getting a new graphics card, no graphics card manufacturer has made a AGP (GPU interface your motherboard has) card in years, so it would be pointless to try and upgrade that.

Let's hope you have pci-e2.0...
That wouldn't matter because all PCIe 2.0 graphics cards are backwards compatible with older versions of PCIe.
