Off Topic / Re: should i learn C# or C++

Frankly, any compiled language is going to look like stuff. Which is why interpreted languages exist. :cookieMonster:

What about Rust :panda:

fn main() {
    let nums = [0, 1, 2, 3];
    let noms = ["Tim", "Eston", "Aaron", "Ben"];

    let mut evens = nums.iter().filter(|&x| x % 2 == 0);

    for evens.advance |&num| {
        do spawn {
            let msg = fmt!("%s says hello from a lightweight thread!",
                           noms[num]);
            println(msg);
        }
    }
}

Modification Help / Re: Set daycycle time?
« on: September 13, 2013, 05:04:12 PM »
DayOffset is just that, the offset. It wont set the time. You can basically do this by taking the current time and a little math. Use this.

Look at syncDayCycle() from that link for an example.

i suggest learning javascript.

1: similar syntax to torquescript - easy learning
2: compatible with node.js - server sided software, gaining popularity fast
3: allows you to use a library called socket.io server and client sided - premade crap, just plug and play

google html5 websockets for more info on them. the above will make your job almost painfully easy.

this.

So since the initial release of Blockland up until yesterday no ads ever, now we will have ads? What's up with this? Is Badspot not making enough or jus wants to get extra? We for get on steam for about 9 months, no ads, we get greenlit and then now we have ads? I don't understand.

This is just my opinion but I would never put ads on my website.

I don't have ads. That was in the Steam in-game browser where I wasn't logged in.

Help / Re: Players not spawning in spawnroom.
« on: September 13, 2013, 03:07:38 PM »
Yes. People will only spawn on a spawn brick if one of the following conditions is true:

  • they own the brick
  • they are in a mini-game with Use Spawn Bricks enabled, and
    • the bricks are owned by the owner of the mini-game, or
    • Use All Players' Bricks is enabled (?)

You have a mini-game, right?

Only the owner of the bricks will spawn on them otherwise.

If you do have a mini-game, make sure to check "Use Spawn Bricks".

it's 4 days away.  It's not that big a deal that you can't see some other guy play the game.

How are people even playing it already anyway?
