I hope you don't mind if I post a storyboard I did during the summer quark.
Not exactly 56K friendly,and i never bothered to scale down the images. I have a animation of this too, but its about 8.5 MB and no site will let me upload flash movies that big after bjayway went down. This was a work term i did for Badspot and my college. I was never used. I hope Badspot doesn't mind me showing it now.

To make it only return one number so you can compare it with other things, you could use VectorLen.

Also, I'm not sure how you would perform an action when a player hits a certain speed, without a constant loop checking everybody's speed, which is a terrible solution.
lag issues? meh.. i was gonna make a joke wad where when you go so fast you break the sound barrier and make a bang sound. ah well...

You used bedroom as a base, didn't you? I did the same thing a while ago.

The terrain is the wrong scale, I can't remember the default size though. Either fix the terrain block scale or use slopes as a base.

the torque game engine has issues with ATI cards. i think to fix it you have to install something/do some fancy stuff or better yet get a different brand card

Anyone in my server for the past few days has probably seen the portal gun I have.

It teleports players, projectiles and vehicles.
It sticks to walls the correct way.
It carries momentum, infinite loops are possible. You don't 'slam into the portal' and then lose all momentum.
Trust system, can't place under non-trusted players (Full) or use other's portals (Build) unless you change the settings in the file.
It deletes itself if you die or leave the game.
Portal-Proof bricks. (Needs saving...)
Portal-Style player. (No fall damage, regenerating health, lower jump, no jets)
Works on bricks, interiors, terrain and statics.

I just need a model for the gun (the portals use particle effects) and a few fixes and then it's done...

p.s. firefox thinks teleports is a typo XD
