goddamnit

use Blockland Terminal stable

What does this have to do with the master server?
the fact that plain text uses a small amount of resources

It's a low-class computer we were just going to throw out, so I took it and set it up for a server or two. I use it for backup as well.

It works fine, even on Ubuntu.

Ubuntu uses 386MB minimum of RAM, good for an atom laptop. Wine probably uses some RAM, though.

Windows 2000 uses 64MB RAM and a 133MHz Pentium processor minimum, but you probably aren't used to using it or hate it. I don't really care about the UI, though. Also, a dedicated server of blockland probably might be able to run on Windows 2000 (someone should test this).

If a dedicated server can't run on Windows 2000, then it can most definitely run on Windows XP, which calls for 128MB RAM and a 300MHz Pentium processor.

Not really. The master server has to handle less than 30KB per second (180 servers, 100KB images each) due to preview images, and that's about it.

I excluded the forums because it's impossible for me to calculate that.
The ban-warning packets are probably sent compressed.

Imagine that ^ was a seperator parsed by the master server, and that the second 1 is a bit for BL_ID banning (0 would be IP banning)
Like: 7EB8^1^3F34^-1^Bye bye, and hope you stay permabanned!

That string sizes to about 50 bytes on ANSI coding, but the hex parts and the numbers would probably be raw hex.

First, I said 30ms, and second, no it won't.
33ms is the minimum delay for events, and it is the defacto standard for loops that run at a fast rate.

21
Make your loops 30ms, for two reasons:

- Most packet rates are 32, meaning any update timed less than 31.25 milliseconds is useless.
- The game simulates at 32Hz, so anything less than 31.25 milliseconds doesn't make sense.
33ms would probably make it chop a little, but OK.

If it says ID INVALID, then your key is probably revoked.

This is going to help Badspot because he just recently made it so that glTexImage3D is able to be used.

How are people not lagging with a loving Intel ATOM processor?!
Blockland dedicated servers require minimal resources if there's only 1-4 players.

Also, I bet people could run a dedi server that has a 4-player 1000-brick cap on a Pentium I/II processor.

gross. gsf terrain sucks
It wouldn't suck if the lazy scripters would get off their asses and remake Mission Editor to use algorithms for GSFGhost terrain.

His CityRPG uses RP Core, and Red_Guy is a person who horribly scripts his big mods (Look at unlimitedmining, the source code is horribly indented).

Basically, it became the Berlin, Nevada of blockland, slowly but surely getting dusty and old.
I host 2 servers a single core 1.6GHz intel atom
holy forget

Why would you host 2 blockland servers on the lowest-class Intel CPU available?

I guess ban works good because it does so much and writes a file andstuff?
I think the ban manager is a ScriptObject that reads BANLIST.txt every time a person joins.

I think the ban manager also checks the time for every tick and then unbans after the ban length is over.

Concerning the post Conservative is talking about, I say screw it. Let people see it. It will help filter the idiots out. When they use it and try to screw up someone's server, and someone else makes a topic about it - the starfish will get their key revoked.
You probably don't need to make a topic, since bans might be sent to the master server.

This has been around for a long time as a solution.
Good solution, but apply Awdax's and my info.

This might turn out stuff.
The admins he picked are hardcore roleplaying kids, and below-average-IQ teenagers, so this will backfire.

Wait what the forget
Now you can crash the server with ban
What
Lots and lots of ban requests sent within a second will crash the server.

i fixed it for you
Use localhostr, I hate popups and stuffty ad-filled sites that have unreliable hosting. Also, don't say "ogm us adblok bich" because I hate Google Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
