It sorta looks more like a seed, a gem, a small piece to draw attention on a white canvas. When I think of roots its usually more an interconnection type program which is most likely unseen.
Project root almost sounds like a wired connection system for data collection to the mother plant or something.
But yeah, depending on what Project Root actually is the logo may or may not be correct.
well the meaning of the seed in the picture is quite literally to symbolize a "interconnection type program which is most likely unseen" and a seed that can grow into a physical, root.
