Just give them all their individual rotation and then parent them to the larger plate which has its own rotation..?

the very first marketed AR-15 model (the colt model 601) had waffle-stamped mags, for one
Well I'll be damned

old AR-10 and AR-15 magazines used to be made in a way that gave them a waffle pattern stamping
Did they make the waffle magazines in 5.56? I could've sworn they were only made in 7.62(nato) and used in AR-10B style rifles.

In the attack on titan world the box cutter design is only used as a means of displaying how light weight the blades are, they were never meant to actually be used like box cutters.
It's mostly just a silly design cheat

Always wondered why they put ridges on the blades.  Are they supposed to break?
It's based on a box cutter design. With the box cutters you're supposed to break a segment off as it dulls, thus using the full length of the blade.

This is also my most detailed model yet at just over 1000 faces-- most of which are just little things like screws, paint on the scope turrets, or those black holes on the CASV fore-end, and extra lines cutting faces in half that I hadn't bothered to clean up yet
hi I use sketchup and what is this
[IMG]http://i58.tinypic.com/2h68uif.jpg

Pretty sure that's not an accurate count. Sketchup to my knowledge doesn't use standard mesh work. Export the model and load it in something else for an accurate reading

"In SketchUp, you can export to various formats, and in the "Save" dialog is an options button. If you export to Collada, you can set the option to "triangulate", and then import again and set the option not to "merge coplanar faces"."

of course it was!
what else could be a larger difference than that
it makes the gun function and feel differently and practically everything is changed regarding ballistics, effective range, and probably even the sights too for different range settings

While that is true, nothing about the gun was changed to accommodate the round, the round was introduced for the AK-74.
It boils down to the round being developed with the intent of working in a lighter, more reliable, better rounded AK.

Does the introduction of a new round make a big difference? Yes it does! but when the round was developed to work for a gun that was already being modified with certain things in mind, those other modifications that the gun goes under to meet goals outweigh the difference.

no, the main difference was the fact that it fired the smaller 5.45 x 39 round
The change in caliber wasn't the "Main difference", it was pretty much a must for the modernization of the rifle.

I actually like that one more than the smooth one lol
probably because he's got horrible edge flow

So basically what you need to do is make more edge loops closer to the edges so you can tighten them up. My major concern is with the cut in area on the top. For something like that you need to have a "buffer" edge of sorts, otherwise it pinches and looks fugly. To create something of a buffer wall I would say select all the faces inside it, including the walls (we're talking about the hole on the top still) and simply extrude it all, scale it on the x and y axis. From there you can add a loop to the edge on top and it will follow the rectangle instead of going all the way to the base of the plug and back.

If you understood anything I just said then goldstar

going to assume you have some sort of subsurface/turbosmooth modification applied to the model, turn that off when showing wireframes. also if you have a way of showing wires on top of the physical model that would be prefered

I meant the wireframe

mod-man show a closer image of the model and include wires. It looks like you're doing it wrong and I want to help you do it better
because I care
a lot
