I always wondered what kind of era Equestria is in, it seems like a mix of medieval (Castles and the way the town is styled) industrial ( trains ) some early 1900's ( I guess Flim and flam's apple juiced thing counts) and some bits of modern era stuff aswell ( Scratch's record player, Radio, some other things I'm forgetting )

It takes place after the Reapers destroyed all human life. They spared horses so they became the new civilized life form on earth.

uh, it's been there throughout the entire season. I literally just checked every episode up to this point. It appears directly after the "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" logo appears.

she lost it?

She stepped down to a less important roll after season one, instead of working on each episode she only does big pictures stuff for Season 2. For the first half of season 2 she didn't have her "created for television by" credit after the intro. For the last 5 or so episodes it's been back.

I'm not a big fan of reviews myself, but OP's argument against them is kind of stupid.

If you read a review correctly you can still get something valuable from it. If you don't care about graphics, you can just ignore the statement that says "graphics suck".

Even if you did come up with a system where each element is rated individually, it would still suck because two people could have completely different thoughts about the exact same gameplay element or graphical style. Personal taste is a lot deeper than "well I don't care about graphics but gameplay is important to me".
