I don't want to shelter them and pretend like they are angels. I just don't want them repeating the same mistake over and over. Atleast you will be teaching them something that could help them better judment in the future.
and what, you think that outright preventing love as a teenager will do that?

the only thing you'd be protecting is your own ignorance. that style of parenting does not work.

Because maybe some people have accounts that they never use.
I do, some of my old ones.
I have old accounts i dont use.. so i dont use them.. their existence doesn't bother me because .. i don't use them
what is your actual reason for wanting this? so you can remove old accounts that have embarrasing posts?

I don't even see a use for them, why would you NEED to go back and see the posts?
i don't know? i just know it's handy to be able to read peoples posts and view their profile, and i know badspot wouldn't bring in a feature that removed accounts and wiped their posts from existence. it'd break the forums.

Why would it matter though if the account is deleted?
So we can scavenge through their old posts?
Does it matter lol?
so we have easy access if we need to or want to look through them?

so yes, it does matter
does it matter if you can't delete the account? why would you even want to?

no

if you don't want to use the account, don't use it. the accounts should stay even when not active so we can look at peoples profiles, previous posts, etc

I guess you would give your kids consent at early age without teaching them that there are percussions for their actions.
What would I do?

I would teach them about love at an early age. when they get to the age of 15, i'll sit them down and tell them it's ok, as long as they're doing it safely. i'd even let them do it in my house.

that way, i know they're in a safe environment, having safe love, and that they know they can come to me with any problems. liberal i know, but better than your "sticking head in the sand" method.

The +18 part is a reference to the US law where it says you can't give consent. Like my Criminal Justice teacher said, "Your parents can't give consent, but if you are going to have love atleast wear a condom."
my point still stands. your idea of parenting when it comes to love is the definition of ignorance. teenagers are going to have love, whether you like it or not. better you allow it and have some control than disallow and have none.

We'll see.
my girlfriends father follows your logic. does it stop us having love? no.

taking a hard line towards love as a parent doesn't work. saying "you can't have love until you're 18" won't actually prevent your teenager doing it, all it will prevent is them doing it with you knowing.

as a parent you have two options
do you allow them to do it safely and be able to come to you with problems?
or
do you disallow it and have them do it behind your back, and make is so they can't come to you if they need help?

I haven't fully stated where I am. Now if I had a daughter who I said if she ends up having love with someone to atleast have the male wear a condom so she doesn't get pregnant in the first place and instead choses to have bare love and ends up getting pregnant I will make her go through those nine months because she had the option to use one piece of latex. Now if she was raped I would leave that option up to her. So basically she has the right to have love at +18, but under by roof or until age 21 she doesn't have the right how she does it.

As for birth control and spermicide, its like spraying weed killer over barren soil.
going to make a horrible father.

I can understand that, but these are modern times. We have birth control pills, condoms, ect. Plus I can guarantee you there is a store nearbye where you can get these things. Which means you can have love without the unwanted consequences.
aren't you pro life? birth control prevents life..?

Would you rather chop down and old tree or new one?
if the new tree is growing when i don't want it to, i rather get rid of it.

Crime will always exsist no matter what.
yep good point, why bother to lower it if it's always going to exist!

I'm done arguing with flawed logic. Killing a semi-formed fetus is killing a to-be person.

And saying could is not the same as saying will. I am not predicting the future.
but it's not a person, that's the point. me deciding not to get my girlfriend pregant is preventing the development of a living person, is that morally wrong too?

you're using hypothetical futures as a defence. as i said, that same argument can be used to defend either side of this argument
