Suggestions & Requests / [REQUEST] Gamemode ideas
« on: March 02, 2012, 08:03:00 PM »
I'm really bored and I want to start up a new gamemode I can work hard on.
So if it fits the guide lines and I like it, I'll pick my favorite one out of the top 5.

Guidelines
1 - Making the idea doesn't mean you'll get it. If your responsible then it's yours.
2 - Use the format below
3 - Nothing on the blacklist please
4 - Nothing already made

Format

- Anything already made
- Anything that has to do with anything in any relationship to have even the slightest ideaology like CityRPG
- MedievalRPGs
- Anything for a personal want/need
- Nothing to do with lots/too many models
- Be realistic: I can't make flying blockheads that eat stuff.
- No Minecraft
- Must be fun. C:

-Port, for the same thing as above.
-Photoshop, for letting me use it to make the logo used.

-everyone who was helpful, for motivating me to clear my entire webserver and putting the new site on (btw it had drpg in the root folder lol)

Constructive Criticism is accepted

Wink wink
Now you can wink.
Just every minute (by default) you wink.
Suggested by a few people

Buggy Wuggies
1 - Forces you to have the default face, for obvious reasons.
2 - It's a little fast.

Download the Face
Download the Script
Thanks K3k0m@n for the face

Modification Help / Terrain Generator - Link removed
« on: February 24, 2012, 12:03:39 AM »

made by this guy named boomerangdog dont know if u heard of him hes a person.

History
I'll keep it short because it's kinda boring, though it's worth being said.
So first I was digging around in a few old digging mods and I found a perlin noise thing that zack0wack0 wrote so I made a few adjustments to the thing and I noticed it was completely useless so I ripped out the generator and adjusted a few things and put in an adventure mode to it added grasses and trees and walla I'm here. Since this wasn't done but I felt like it should go out, I post in modification discussion.
Beta 1 - General Terrain generation.
Beta 2 - Grass/Trees/New Colors
Beta 3 - Bug Fixes/Options

Notifications
Key
[BUG GOES HERE]
*REQUIREMENT GOES HERE*
(WARNING GOES HERE)

[Sometimes theres weird lines of the terrain that go off.]
[Some weird things happen when you plant bricks on it.[/b]][/b]
*Use Tureno's colorset*
*Must have Large_Cubes enabled*
(Works best with little amounts of add-ons)
(It's not infinite)
(Works best in Dedicated Mode, for the height generator takes a bit)
(I may have left a few scraps of water in there, ignore it, it's something coming up in beta 4)
(The slate.dif may not delete for some people, just look at it say /getid and take the ID and in console do id.delete(); :S)

Modders
If you would like to use this in any scripts of yours, if you would just give me credit you can use this :)
Also, if you find any bugs that you fix or add any features you think are cool, post a download and I'll make some kind of way to download them :).

Credits
Almost forgot this
•Brian Smith - The code...?
•Zack0Wack0 - The Perlin Noise Library thing
•Aloshi - some code for the water you can't see.
•Zane/Legomanjosh - Testing/Suggestions/COLOURS

Preferences
At the top your going to see

$Terrain::Option::Trees = true; //Generate trees?
$Terrain::Color::Trees = 4;
$Terrain::Color::Dirt = 55;
$Terrain::Color::Grass = 32;
$Terrain::X = 150;
$Terrain::Y = 150;

So I'll basically tell you what each of them mean.
$Terrain::Option::Trees - Generate trees?
$Terrain::Color::* - Color of whatever
$Terrain::X/Y - The size of the map. Suggested to keep under 200, because it takes time to generate.

If someone could make a awesome logo, that'd be nice :)

Modification Help / Brick++ (Brick Language)
« on: February 08, 2012, 07:05:58 PM »

Project
Simple (not really) project where a user learns a form of "language" to "program" bricks instead of eventing them with click and pick. The project would first - remove the wrench.

The wrench would be replaced by adding a tool called "BrickModder." The BrickModder tool is used to program bricks. When you are finished programming the brick, you simply press "Save" and the brick will be saved. Below I will explain my idea of the syntax of the language.

Syntax
A hello world program would look something like this:

self.activate(brick,player)
[
   var name, blid
   name = player.name
   blid = player.bl_id
   player.centerPrint("You are " > name < " BLID " > blid < "\n"-3)
]

This simple program would have the name of the player who activated the brick have a center print of "You are YourNameHere blid YourBLIDHere" for 3 seconds. Simple, eh? Since I really haven't had much work done on the structure of the language, I haven't gotten much done on the actual code of the language. I just changed a few things around. If a player can learn this, if he changed his mind set a bit, he could easily become a programming for add-ons.

Progress
Language Interpreter - 0%
General Input Methods - 10% - Wrote the onActivate command
Client/GUI - 0%
Item - 0%
Not much is done, though it will take a bit. I will be showcasing the client and beta here. So keep I'll keep you posted.

Post what you think about the idea. Ill be posting more ideas on the syntax below.
