Clan Discussion / Re: TCBB: The Coalition for a Better Blockland
« on: June 15, 2009, 11:11:36 PM »
I don't know about you, but I haven't seen any newbies in distress lately. If I did, you bet your ass I would help out.

I'm back, and back to this comment.

This raises a question: is this clan serving a purpose at all?

I mean, you've admitted yourself that there haven't been many newbies in distress lately, and I don't seem to remember more than one or two in my few years here.

But those few? I stood up for them without having to be in a clan, I did it because I felt it to be right.
On that note I really haven't helped that many, but I have one or two at the very least. You don't see me with a clan about it.

So you've narrowed your range because you've admitted your previous idea to be impossible, whereas the current idea is pointless, so I ask you: whats next for the clan?
I reminded you to be a strong leader in private, but you've given the opposition ground now, they won't stop.

Your move, Aƫtius.

You're still glorifying the idea with a clan.

I doubt someone who spams emotes and cant spell will be able to script competently or have the patience to model, so no.

From your example, they didn't make tiny mistakes, they were idiots. If they shape up then we have no problem.

If you'd like to make the whole place nicer, then loving do so instead of changing your avatars and posting slogans.

Protect the newbie in distress, stand up for people, stop being a bunch of sheep with similar avatars. DO SOMETHING. You don't need a clan to glorify it, just spread good values and they will take hold.

When did we have hatred for newer members?

Only people who discriminate by ID are idiots and not to be considered part of "we".
We have been overly generous in accepting new people, it is wrong of you to accuse us of fault in that area.

By wiping these scum off the face of the internet, we regain a sense of decency around here.
The issue is that you're wasting a lot of energy and manpower towards an unachievable, impossible task. If you continue until you "resolve this", you will continue forever. Eventually you will break. Forgive us for trying to speed up the process and spare you from the burden of unnecessary labor. You aren't making a difference, but you now have people going around spreading negativity by reminding everyone to "be nice".

Let me explain something to you: people tend to be more negative if you act snobby and act like they are lower people because they openly express their negativity. Your movement is therefore creating a reverse effect: The people involved think they are improving, while the rest of the community is becoming agitated by your "movement".

I've given my points. Your move(I suspect you will act like you are above me and better than I am, then cast off my opinions as worthless gibble)

Also to answer your pointless, poorly-thought out questions:
1) You can't always be nice. I can, but that doesn't mean I will.
2) Nothing, just that you're not.
3) You are doing something wrong.

Clans who claim to revolutionize

are really a bunch of people sitting around thinking they are changing things and trying to sound dramatic.

Stay far away.

Why do people ask for the impossible or the non-existent.
They're in denial, or they're penniless hippies.

At any rate, in a suburb of boulder now. Was one long, long drive.

Going on vacation tomorrow. Its a long, 12-14 hour drive to Boulder where I stay for a few nights and then onto Utah.

I'll be staying at hotels with internets so I'll keep in touch.
Plan is to read through a C++ book and some tutorials I found and try to better myself at the language on the ride.

Also to play some AOE2 :D

Anyways, point Miga towards this topic tomorrow and I'll post about my escapades later in the week.
Time to go get 4 hours of sleep.

ITT: discuse your vacations or something.

Sorry, I'm going to be on vacation for a week(starting tomorrow)

I have a labtop so I'll keep in touch, just we won't be able to do much on the project except planning(and some minor script work)

I guess project objective for the week is to fill all the holes in our level list.

%client.player.setimagetrigger(0,0);

Scratch that, didn't see "client-sided"

You would never be able to zoom out and fully see it. I know that for a fact. Zoom out too far with this thing as is, and a circle starts to appear around it.
...

Increase draw distance, then open map in f11, go to sky, increase visible distance and fog distance.
So no, you don't know that for a fact.
