Games / Re: Garry's Mod Help
« on: August 17, 2008, 12:40:04 AM »
THIS IS NOT A GMOD HELP FORUM.

Have you tried looking at FAQs, troubleshooting guides, support pages, ANYTHING AT ALL, or did you just post here, too lazy to look it up.

I knew someone would call me out on that.

Fair enough, maybe you can call them gamers on a technical level because yes, they are playing games.

Still, the casual market and it's intense success has hurt the more serious aspects of the video game culture. It's akin to seeing a child's crayon drawing in the Louvre; it undermines the efforts of those who wish to keep gaming at it's best, on the edge of technology, on the cutting edge of story telling and the cutting edge of interactive entertainment.

Doesn't it make you just a little mad that Nintendo and other companies can throw together some half assed casual game and sell it for millions while other games with a lot more depth and value and investment get left by the wayside? I'd have thought you would support niche games considering that we all play Blockland.

So basically, you want to keep the one generation of gamers?

When did you start gaming? I started before I even went into school.

"it undermines the efforts of those who wish to keep gaming at it's best"
Right, keeping kids out of it. Because you know, none of today's gamers had their beginnings in gaming when they were children. Children in gaming is a completely new thing and is absolutely horrible.

"

Yes, I know. Nintendo should abandon its roots as a family friendly console and head up fountains-of-blood avenue because some selfish morons can't accept that gaming had a lot of its roots in family friendly entertainment.
Doesn't it make you just a little mad that people continue to undermine Nintendo's work just because it doesn't look like crCIA or contain fountains of blood?

" I'd have thought you would support niche games considering that we all play Blockland."
Remember how you said "a lot more depth and value and investment"? Somehow I don't think millions were put into blockland considering Badspot doesn't have millions. Consider getting a better example or quit being a hypocrite.

GET THE forget OVER YOURSELF AGAIN.

What.

That could easily be done, its a 2by1F that has a bump on top, thus making it a 2by1by2.(A normal brick is a 2by1by3)

Mmhm.

Back in the day, being on the smartest kids of the grade list meant you could spell.

Seriously, I could spell whatever when I was 5, but a fifth grader who thinks he's smart can't manage to place the E's in the right places?

3532
So what, now, the definition of gamer changed?

gam·er     Audio Help   /ˈgeɪmər/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[gey-mer] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
a person who plays games.

So yes, being able to win at mario kart or having a great Wii Fit score makes you a gamer.

Gamer =/= 30 year slob that lives with his parents/12 year old screaming about how high he is/jackasses who actually argue over this stuff(wewt for hypocriticalness)

Get. The forget. Over. Yourself.

The wii is pretty powerful if the damn developers would make full use of it instead of treating it like a ps2 with motion controls.

TEN NEW REPLIES?

Talk about fanboys rushing to the scene.
Of course,  I came prepared.

TWO NEW REPLIES?

Damnit man!

"Video games were ment for us Lazy's So we could get some easy entertainment. Physical Activity+=Video Games=BIG TIME FAIL."

Uhm, no. Video games were invented to turn a profit. The lazy people were a side effect. (if there were no video games, you wouldn't be as lazy, and you would be outside playing stick ball or some stuff)

"Gamers (AKA Hardcore)-xBox360"
Also, I dunno if I would count children who's balls haven't even begun to drop screaming into a microphone as "gamers".

You're friend is a handicap, but thanks for stereotyping the wii-fan community as a bunch of "LOL HALO ON WII" people, I'll remember to use your skin as an area rug when you're done with it.

"Youde probably die on the easyiest difficulty. Everyone knows first person/3rd person shooters on the Wii all Fail because of the Wii's Limited buttons."
What the forget is this all about?

Limited buttons? Son, you're an idiot.

YOU HAVE:
A
B
+
-
1
2
C
Z
D PAD(4 buttons)
JOY STICK(movement)
MOVEMENT(can be used for a lot)

You would aim by pointing, move with the joy stick, use B to shoot, C or Z to jump, C or Z for grenade/other ability/interaction/crouch, and the D-Pad for whatever you need. Reloading could be a flick of the nun-chuck.

FPSs are argueably better on the Wii if you are used to computer FPSs because the aiming is a lot easier to get the hang of than having to use one joystick to move and one joystick to aim.

"xTream gamers (Me, people who know that DDR2 SDRAM is)-PS#"
I would put that category in for computer gaming or erase it completely as its contents are, argueably, morons.

"In other words, PS3 is for people who like computers and hope to get a job in them,"
Right, lets all get a PS3 and get the loving expensive SDK so we can get a job in computers instead of getting a PC and getting the free developement tools we would need or purchasing a considerably cheaper engine. That makes perfect sense.

Wouldn't people who like computers and want a job in them... you know... get a computer?
A PS3 is the worst place to start developing and such, infact, any console is a horrible environment because of how expensive it is to just get started-- and even then you need past experience and much more.

"all of these Wii fanboys that are saying Awesome games are coming out for the Wii"
Thats because they are.

"Yet Theyre allready out on the Xbox360/Ps3"
Seriously? You mean boomblox was out on the xbox?
And you say Xbox and PS3 already have Spore?
They're putting megaman 9 on Xbox live arcade?
Conduit has a PS3 release?
etc. etc.

If you are fat, lazy, etc. get the forget out of the house for once.
(and don't try to reverse this on me-- I get out a lot, I swim, I climb, I am not a lazy person)
