I'm going to do what I should do when something comes up and I don't know what it is but often times I'm too lazy to-- read the wikipedia article.

Georgia is located in the middle east on the black sea, for those of you who don't know.
So, from my understanding, two parts of Georgia declared independence, backed by Russia, and Georgia tried to reclaim one of them by surrounded and taking its capital, which was later retaken by Russia. What happens next is unsure because it hasn't happened yet.(But I think a ceasefire was issued)
Apparently some major oil pipelines run through southern Georgia, I wonder what would happen if Russia took them.
According to my knowledge, most of the rest of the world(for lack of me remembering the specifics) wants a peaceful solution.
Do I have this right?
