welp, this is it. The Firefly megathread.
incase you dont know what Firefly is... google it you lazy forget.
Firefly is an American space western drama television series
The show explores the lives of a group of people who fought on the losing side of a civil war and others who now make a living on the outskirts of society, as part of the pioneer culture that exists on the fringes of their star system. In this future, the only two surviving superpowers, the United States and China, fused to form the central federal government, called the Alliance, resulting in the fusion of the two cultures.
yup thats the crew right up there.
"Captain Malcolm Reynolds" is the main character in the show. He is the captain of the ship "Serenity" and he is really funny. He always knows whats best for his crew and his wallet, and is willing to put his life on the line for both of those.
"River Tam" is... well... weird. She is the sycotic but extremely intelligent little sister of "Simon Tam"
she tends to be really vague and mysterious with the way she communicate s with the rest of the crew, but is non the less a vital asset. In her earlier childhood. She was taken by the government and put through a lot of wierd and strange experiments which eventually lead to her strange mental behavior and psychic wierd mind reading kinda thingy abilities. She is also my favorite character.
"Inara Serra" is the
prostitute, whore, "Companion"
she basicaly sleeps with guys, or in some cases, other girls, for money. She has a contract with "Mal" that lets her run her business on his ship. "Mal" also had a relationship with her earlier in their past. He obviously still has feelings for her but he doesnt want anyone, or even himself to know.
"Kaylee Frye" Is the lovable ship's mechanic. She's funny, cute, smart, and the only person alive who knows how to keep the ships engine running, oh and she loves strawberries. "Kaylee" and "Simon" have a little bit of an attraction towards eachother throught the entire season. I cant quit remember how the season ended but im pretty sure they almost went on a date. I will have to say that "Kaylee" is my second favorite character.
"Jayne Cobb" is probably the least intelligent crew member. He's not stupid, but he's definitely not the smartest person. His job on the ship is "Public relations". Although "Jayne" and "Mal" dont get along all the time, they are definitely great partners. "Jayne" likes to solve problems using force and muscle and guns, instead of strategy.
"Hoban Washburne" is the pilot of the ship "Serenity"
He is smart and extremely skilled at piloting. He is married to "Zoe" and is good friends with "Mal"
"Zoe Washburne" is the... well... um... she just kinda hangs around and helps out with defending everyone. Her friendship with "Mal" goes all the way back to the Civil war with the government and the revolution. They were battle buddies during the war, and remaine battle buddies to this day.
"Simon Tam" purchased his ticket for a ride on "Serenity" with the intention of smuggling his sister "River" across space to a safe place to hide from the government. But after being exposed by the captain "Mal" he has become an addition to the crew as the ship's Doctor. He is a very intelligent man with a few medical degrees and an attraction to "Kaylee" the ship's mechanic.
"Shepherd Book" Purchased a ticket for a ride on "Serenity" Purley out of the spirit of adventure. He is a very religious man who believes in some form of Christianity I think. He has also basically become a permanent resident aboard "Serenity"
He likes reading his bible, saving peoples lives, and has no problem with shooting people in their knee caps.
So go ahead and discuss Firefly!
oh and they also made a movie called "Serenity"
If you haven't seen Firefly or Serenity, then i suggest you go and watch them cos they are really good.
