have you confirmed that no client mods will be needed?
have you confirmed all of these mods work together smoothly?
have you found a source of income other than donations to keep the server running?
have you gotten the money to purchase the server yet?

Do you pull this stuff on all server hosts? Piss off.

Anyway, I'd be willing to try it, at least. Honestly it sounds like something that's destined to be executed poorly. No offense.

I'm leaving for the night, everyone is welcome but if I find the server griefed I'm shutting down and putting a stuffload of restrictions and having a constant watch of admins.

PLEEEASE do not add mods that require client downloads.
I'm saying this to ANY public host that EVER exists, unless they're hosting a Tekkit server.

Command and Conquer 2: Red Alert had an anti-piracy measure kind of like this. After 30 seconds of gameplay, all of the player's bases would combust and asplode.
