« on: January 20, 2012, 09:23:00 PM »I've actually just been changing the script in notepad and then reinstalling it every time because I am dumb and do not know anything about javascript.Still doesn't work. localStorage is a small text file associated with the domain name. Gotta define localStorage.blockList directly. Remove the if() statements before the definitions and the script will do it for you, but this will break the add/remove stuff.
The "master ignore script" screws stuff up because it overrides "$" because it loads jQuery. $ is already used by Prototype.JS, or whatever similar thing BLF uses.jQuery isn't used anywhere by SMF.

For some reason it blocks your most recent post when I do this. Is it because of your quote? The rest of my posts appear fine.
localStorage definitions aren't set each time the page loads, it's constant data similar to cookies but entirely client-side. If you're changing stuff, be sure to define localstorage.blockList in the developer's console/firebug/etc.

It checks the whitelist before the blacklist. Adding yourself to the blacklist will do nothing.

The only way to stamp out an attention whore is to stop giving them attention. Although people do a fantastic job at insulting Lord Tony, it doesn't matter. What Ephialtes posted has no baring on him. He thinks he has done no wrong, and never will. Insulting him merely makes him feel more important.
Stocking operates the same way. She posts lolicon in the anime girls thread just to piss people off and fan debates about child research. She posts herself in the hot girl threads for a mixture of compliments and more hostility over her presence. She incites me because she likes my retaliations.
They are bottom feeders. Acknowledging makes them happy. Failure to acknowledge them upsets them. That's why Stocking always said her biggest fear is just being forgotten like the Lady of the Lake, and that's why she's in the new script by default.
I say good riddance. The two of them have contributed even less than I, and stir up stuff on a professional level. If I never see either of their skidmarks on these boards again, it'll be to soon.

Updating OP with a new script.
- Adding and removing blocked users can now be done through user profiles.
- Resetting the block list is possible by clicking "Profile" up at the top and finding the link on your profile.
- Blocked users' names do not appear anywhere on the main page, either as "last poster" or "active user". They instead appear as "Unwanted User" with no link.
- Blocked users' names do not appear on the last poster on topic listings. They instead appear as "Unwanted User" with no link.
- Blocked users' threads do not appear in directory listing.
- Blocked users' posts do not show up. Users quoting a blocked user will have their post hidden.
- Blocked users' posts and, and users quoting them, do not appear in the "Topic Summary" when posting.
- Scripts now intelligently recolor posts so you won't even be able to detect if the scripts have taken out a person's posts.
