Okay, so I really love to play Guitar / Drums / Piano / Bass, and I got my friend into making music. He bought a 115$ cheap fake and gay Stratocaster off of some idiot. It didn't play right, the neck was slightly bent, and the electronics didn't work at all.
Then he bought a 200$ body off of his uncle (his uncle likes to scam, he did it to me once, when I bought some strings off of him.) The body is just an ugly scratched up piece of wood in the shape of a guitar. So then his uncle points him over to a store, where they sell everything really expensive. Turns out his custom made guitar turned out to be over 600$ I think, maybe a tad bit lower. After that, he bought a bass off of E - bay, that is as ugly as ever, that was 70$ right there. I told him not to buy anything cheap or under 150$. He agreed and then he's stuck with an ugly bass. It has horrible electronics (he had to send it to a store once to get fixed) The neck is wobbly too. After that he bought an Acoustic Guitar for 235$ off of E - bay too. It's decent, it has at least 3 big gouges out of the back on the guitar. It plays nicely, and the action on it is... okay... I've seen better.
Now he's going to spend $350 on this HORRID guitar. It's another Strat, but it is just hideous, and it says plainly on the description "Not in best shape."
Ugh, I've tried talking him into purchasing off of Sweetwater.com, that's where I get my stuff. I've never had a problem.
He's also going to try to buy some drums for $200, that don't have the full kit.
And he's paying $50 a month for his stupid teacher that's just teaching him how to PLAY songs, not teaching him scales or chords. He's clueless... Then he calls me an idiot because I have to teach him stuff. All he wants to do is this huge "EPIC" guitar solo that has just lots of Scales.
Any of you got advice? he just keeps ignoring me, I don't want him to spend more money on crap.
