So, today, I was at school, after school, late. I was talking to some friends when a 16 year old guy and another 16 year old were talking. I know them both very well. So,
I hear one of them say "Yeah, they wanted to take my license away..." I began to be suspicious. I heard about this article about a month ago, and I didn't think much of
it. So, I rudely - but importantly interrupted "Uh, what? What happened?". He replied "I was in a high speed chase...". It hit me. "Wait, that was you?!" I asked. He
replied yes. So, I asked him to explain. He did. "Well, a while back, I was ticketed for speeding. They told me if I got another, my license would be suspended. So, I was
coming home from the doctor's office one day, at about 9:20 AM on a school day (He dropped out a while back and got a GED). I was pissed (I never got the reason) so I
decided to have a little fun, and rev up my truck. I began speeding, and the police pulled me over. When the officer was about to walk to my window, I remembered, I
can't get another speeding ticket, or my license would be taken away. So, I swerved off the road and began to speed down the highway." Within the first 5 minutes,
about 9 police cruisers were involved in the pursuit, including one of my former teachers that quit a couple months ago to be a cop. "So, 6 minutes into the chase, a 18
wheeler was coming down the lane (The teen was in the wrong lane) so I kept going at him. He eventually swerved off and his trailer almost hit me, so I swerved into
someones yard, and went back on the highway. By the end, there was about 19 cop cars on me. The chase went on for about 9:30 - 10:45." As explained in the article,
the chase was ended by a spike strip. "Even though there were a bunch of cops after me, a bunch of them were left in the dust. There was only one who kept up with
me in a one lane." He for some reason laughs about this. "So, I went to court, I went to juvenile detention center, and my bond was set at 50 grand. My dad refused to
pay the 50k, so I remained in the prison for two weeks. They then let me out early. My license wasn't suspended, but my dad is selling my truck. And i'm on probation for
a year. My dad said when I get in college he will buy me a motorcycle". I then replied "That is the dumbest idea I have ever heard in my life". Then, he added "I will
probably do it again when I am not a minor anymore, because they said I would have a clean record once I was 18".
I know the reason he did this whole thing for, but that will remain classified.
