Been homeschooled since middle school and it's been really good for me. I learned a lot more in the span of a year than I did my entire time at school. The public schooling system is stuff right now and personally I believe it's the worst choice at the moment. It can be better and it can be a good option if we could just improve it but how it is now, it's just not a good choice.
people who voted no, please explain how having people who never learned division is a good thing
I didn't know school was the only way to learn division? I didn't know people who didn't attend school lost the ability to learn, I can't remember turning in my learning ticket when I left.
Well, the problem isn't that it's mandatory, it's that it's horrible. If school actually taught kids things worth a damn and treated them more like people than just throwing books at them and expecting them to somehow live a more fulfilled life that way, then it being mandatory wouldn't be bad at all.
This. While I still believe it shouldn't be mandatory, it's the fact of how you barely learn stuff from it, they don't teach any of the stuff they should be teaching to actually prepare someone for life. It may be different at other schools but at mine they never had classes to learn how to handle taxes or being financially stable in the real world. No instead they spend most of their time teaching stuff that will never help at all and are only really there as a cool "Oh hey, I know this know. I'll never need this knowledge but I have it now."
Oh stuff what's wrong with me. I made it my mission to never post a strong opinion on this website. forget.
