Walter just nods and decides it's best to lay low, hoping if he needs to use the skepna again that its operating properly. Walter heads to an empty portion of catwalk to look at the bleak scenery and have some time alone to think about his future options.

Walter finishes the last of his ration

"I think I'll head to the hanger and help the engineers with the Skepna, I imagine they might be having a couple issues with a modified foreign plane. If not I can check that Klara isn't getting into any trouble. Thanks for talking, see you around."

With that Walter heads off to the hanger to offer any assistance if the Skepna is currently being worked on.

She puts her own leg up on the bench where you placed yours, pulling her pant leg up to her knee to show off her own predominantly plastic prosthetic. Unlike yours, hers is very clean and uniform, with very few gaps for foreign matter to get in- though you reckon the framework wouldn't stand up to a sledgehammer the way yours would.

"Huh, I had forgotten you also had prosthetics, Guess that says something about the quality of them. It's not too much of an issue, only really when taking or putting the fatigues off, which it snags a lot on some of the joints. I imagine my fatigues serve as a sort of second skin otherwise and keep most stuff out, and while these aren't the nicest, I think that they won't need to be replaced due to use or damage anytime soon. I've dinged these a couple times by accident and they've fared pretty well, Durability rather than comfort."

Walter puts on an awkward smile

"Speaking of comfort though, while most of my nerves are shot from the gas, they can get a little uncomfortable after extended time because it presses on my femur. I took to cutting some extra padding for where the remainder of my leg attaches to alleviate some of that."

: Could it have hurt them to give you something a little more... tidy, though? That looks awfully exposed compared to what I'm used to.

Walter takes a second short look at his leg before responding and placing it back down on the ground

"I'm guessing they gave me a lower grade as I'd just be flying, instead of getting back on the field as a soldier. I'm not too bothered by it, I could probably invest in paying someone to  upgrade them or modifying them myself. I think I'll have to leave that for a bit later though, they serve their purpose alright for the time being."

"I wouldn't quite know, I'd have to guess it was the only place they could retrofit vents, They did just shove an airship grade cannon into the frame. There was some space where the co-pilot controls would be, but It wouldn't have hurt to put in a shield with some kind of seal for the pilot though. Or someone just doesn't like me, that's not too far-fetched either."

Musashi glances over at a TV screen mounted on a support pillars for a moment before coming to a realization.
: You know it just occured to me we haven't had a chance to properly catch up since Svirask. How were things for you after we left?

Walter scratches the front of his head

"It's kind of blurry... But If I recall right we we're assigned to the Tordenskjold right after our leave finished from Svirask. We had a few sorties but the most notable was Kronovostok; where we destroyed the carrier that set down there, along with the city block. I think that little event pushed some peoples feelings, especially Arkhip, If you haven't seen him here yet. Gustav got transferred to another squadron right after Kronovostok too, not sure if it was by his own vocation or someone else's choice."

He takes a moment to breath and takes a quick sip

"Sometime near Kronovostok the carrier was attacked so it had to eventually land for repairs, which gave us another hefty leave to relax. After boarding the carrier again and a few sorties we carried out that attack on the coastal defense. Then we ended up meeting your squadron, That's really all I can recall personally, other than-"

Walter thinks about mentioning the Helian Pod, but decides against blabbing about it in the open for now.

"-Oh right, We were provided with more equipment as usual, but I had the pleasure of being the guinea pig for that modified shikra in the hanger now." He lifts on of his legs up on the bench and slides up the leg of his fatigues "I lost both of them in Kronovostok, The weapon overheated and- well- It can be guessed what happened."

"The tables were reminiscent of a kids playground, with all the handholds and what not on the end of the seating, kind of funny to think about it. Sleeping wasn't the most fun either during a course change, usually the bed would hold me in but it was too easy to knock your head on the wall."

Walter continues to eat his ration, the flavour becoming a little more monotone and less pronounced with each drink.

"It's nice that this carrier isn't constantly moving or banking, I keep forgetting we're up in the air. Taking off and landing is a lot more pleasant too, Interesting to see all the little things that are different on the other side."

He looks around at nearby tables for anyone else who also has one, in the process he see and notes to himself Tippy with her gaunt expression passing by on the fringes of the messhall.

He looks at the label and sounds out the words

"...Fru-cht-mis-chung. Doesn't sound too vile." He takes a quick sip and lets it sit on his tongue for a moment before swallowing and speaking again "Tastes like mango and some other flavors laced in there, it's not bad... how about yours? any different?"

Walter begins speaking as he seats himself down

"Without a scratch too, oddly. Yeah, we pushed them off but it wasn't much of a victory... felt like that gave them more of an upper hand."

Walter begins to open his ration as he thinks and takes a short glimpse around

"Kind of late, but thanks for giving us the option to choose sides. I was skeptical of Tarkirov's plan in the first place but couldn't do anything about it."

Walter heads to the imperial Messhall to get his ration and looks for familiar faces in the sea of imperial uniforms, he eventually spots the Kintharian uniforms sticking out and heads over to them.
