Walter takes another drink himself and swirls around the remainder of the drink in the glass, watching it go up the sides of the glass while lightly smiling to himself. Not quite sure where to follow through, he lets the pleasent mood settle instead while he thinks to himself.

Walter checks on if the drinks are coming

"I do however, although I don't think much of death, I like the little game that surrounds killcounts. Reminds me of hunting."

He pauses a moment and collects his thoughts, deciding to follow through after sighing.

"Don't get me wrong, I don't have an issue with firing a rifle and ending someones life. Dead, Is dead. I just know that if I was to kill someone it wouldn't matter for that single person, but what would matter is the people connected to that person would be affected."

Walter pauses again

"I feel like if I had watched a person before I killed them, interacting with their peers somewhere, I'd feel guilt for killing them and taking them away."

Walter shifts in his seat with a more neutral expression on his face

"That mindset comes back to get me, But in the other way around, where I could be the person losing someone.... So right now, I'm kind of scared to speak to you about this, I'm not sure if you've noticed but I haven't really said or done anything when my squad members get shot down or... pass... I haven't displayed a level of emotion for that sort of thing since..."

He cuts himself off to stave off the sentence

"I rather protect the people I know the best I can, I can't cure death. But I can prevent it or at least by shifting the amount of it to the other side."

: I dunno, maybe because he's a coward. Not that people in the Air Force are cowards, but it's you must admit it's a lot lower risk than being in the Army or Marines. He's just close enough to the action that he can pick up some souvenirs to sell off, but not so close that he'd get a bomb dropped on his head. That's my guess anyway.

"It's certainly less risk in the air force, It's a lot less personal too when shooting down a plane."

Walter looks up at the wall then back

"I thought about joining the ground forces for a marksman position, or something of the sort. Something held me from it though..."

Walter begins to play with his hands while he thinks about dishing out some of his welled up thoughts, and if he should. He felt comfortable enough in the quiet bar, yet his previous statement from the last time he was at the bar of making connections sat in the back of his mind, terrorizing his decision to continue.

Walter nods and sets down the menu, attempting to flag down the bartender and get two of the drink.

"So do you know how much Frisk generally makes off his little side business? Why would he even be in the Air force if he's so proficient with that stuff?"
