People in the past have joked about a Blockland Campaign or Adventure Mode. I'd like to make these jokes into a reality.

Blockland Campaign: The Gold Brick, is going to be a single player / co-op campaign. It will contain many references to Blockland and its community. Work has already begun:

























The Story:

I'm going to be putting the story so far on page 5. The one on page three is outdated.


How can I help?

What I most need are references to the game. I'd like to include as many references to players, event, add ons, etc... I already have some things in mind including the Gold Brick, Badspot, Kompressor, TBM, Ephi, V21, etc...

I could also use people to act as bots in the final game. You could be a simple one or two line bot, or you could have a whole area dedicated to you and some quest. Please give a suggestion as to your role, lines, and a picture of yourself if possible.

If you feel you're good at building in the style depicted in the screenshots, I could use help on that, as well.



Finished World 1 of the Campaign! There are 8 areas, offering about 20 minutes of playtime, more or less depending on how thorough you are.

To play, simply load up the build, start a minigame, disable painting, wrenching, building, fall damage, and brick damage. Remove all tools, do a /clearbots, and you're good to start.

Don't do that whole process, play the great gamemode by Superstarxalien169 of World 1 instead!

Because a lot of those gamemodes have very little replay ability and aren't very fun to most?

And yea I agree a 24/7 server would not be that good cause people would eventually get bored of what is being hosted. That server could have multiple games though that are either shuffled or voted for. Server shouldn't be up all time either to let players try out other servers being hosted.

I do like the idea of a bunch of "default" servers hosting default gamemodes 24/7. If Badspot wouldn't do it, this could be something one of those upcoming hosting services can do - just host the default rampage, speedkart, freebuild (maybe? might want to avoid the need to administrate if possible), etc gamemodes not accociated with anyone at all times.

Thing is why would anyone host those gamemodes when they retain very few players and anyone can host them themselves. I'd rather have servers that are always enjoyed but rarely hosted be used if they can.

We can't fix this problem because we need players to have players. It's as simple as that.

It's not an issue as to server variety; when Blockland had double or triple the players there were also just as little variety in servers.
It's also not an issue as to technology or resources. People have more and better add ons than ever to work with. Players in the community are just as smart and able to create nice things as they've ever been.

If I, and probably many other people, don't see a populated server we like, we close the game.

Aside from some endorsement from a person with a lot of following, nothing can be done.

From personal experience I have had difficulty starting up blockland when I have no connection, launcher would often take 10-15 minutes to respond. It might be it taking a crazy amount of time to start. Although, there's really no reason why launcher should not start with no connection as Marios said.

Well, you can do changes to weapons, player types, scripts and whatever, in their .cs file. Opening that might look intimidating, but you should see stuff that makes sense, such as projectiledamage = how much damage something does. Best thing to do is play around there, and then try it in game. I'd always create backups of things in case I mess up and can't figure out how to fix.
