Earlier this month, the Super Mario Bros. Movie had a special Los Angeles screening in celebration of its 20th Anniversary. But for the event organisers, the fun doesn’t just stop there. In fact, the movie – which is akin to Marmite – is now getting its very own comic sequel.

discuss the beauty of this development

Creativity / S5 LEAGUE - Super Stylish eSper Shooting Sports
« on: May 10, 2013, 06:49:15 AM »
(this has been really well received on the official S4 League forums, so i guess i'll post it here)
Nothing much to actually show now, since all I have is the third person flowgraph arranged to mimic S4's camera and some quick mock-up models based on the Basic M outfit. It's basically S4 HD, which is nice and all, but I don't want to really show anything till I can REALLY show you where I intend to go with this project.
Any questions and suggestions, please throw them my way! I intend to make this as community-influenced as possible to suit everyone's ideals.

Games / I Love Bees - Let's take a trip down memory lane
« on: May 05, 2013, 05:14:09 PM »
i remember when i was about 8, and had just gotten my XBox, i got pretty into halo
it was also when i first started going on the internets, and started with my original alias of kishgal, and oh those were the days
anyway, i managed to get on the internet just in time to find the halo 2 ARG "I Love Bees," and shammy and i were recently talking about it for some reason that i can't even fully remember. does anyone else here remember this?

Modification Help / resizing and repositioning a crosshair
« on: April 20, 2013, 11:34:53 AM »
i'm remaking my old crosshair changing mod since the download link died, but i'm trying to add support for different sized crosshairs
what i have right now is
Quote
function Crosshair5_Switch()
{
   Crosshair.setBitmap("Add-ons/Client_CrosshairChooser/crossHair5");
   Crosshair.setExtent = "64 64";
   Crosshair.setPosition = "292 202";
}
(the numbers are adjusted for a 64x64 crosshair on an 800x600 screen)
for whatever reason, the extent and position aren't properly adjusted, so i just end up with a funny looking squished version of the crosshair
also, is there a way i can have the position set relative to the screen size, since almost no one plays in 800x600 (eg.
Quote
Crosshair.setPosition = "display.Width / 2 + 16, display.Height / 2 + 16";
or something to that effect)

feel free to take a gander
this probably won't last long, and it's probably a terrible life wrecking decision, but oh well

Off Topic / taboo's new "workstation"
« on: April 10, 2013, 06:47:55 PM »
my dad found an eMachines eTower 600is at work, ready to be thrown out, and instead figured he'd bring it home for me to mess around with. after some cable hunting and pushing its internals all back into place, i got it working reasonably well and am using it now.
i would post a dxdiag image but i can't find an image uploader that this computer can handle
instead, here's what it says on the front of the tower:
Quote
600MHz Intel Celeron Processor
32MB SyncDRAM
128KB L2 Cache
10GB Hard drive
3D AGP Intel Direct Graphics
56k Fax modem
specifically, it's an "Intel 82810 Graphics Controller," with a whole 8MB of available memory. surprisingly enough, it already had DirectX 9.0c installed.
the computer's running windows ME... barely.
the fan's loud as hell.
it has only 1 USB port on the front.
the sound card seems totally broken.
and i loves it.

this is the keyboard

which is now my new main keyboard, forget the police (only issue is that the space bar is nearly detached and sometimes doesn't work; should be an easy fix)

this is the mouse

it honestly isn't that bad, but the ball (yeah, it's ball mouse) doesn't seem to roll quite right on the y-axis, so i'll probably get rid of it

discuss old computers, their swag, and how incredible it is that computers have improved so much over the course of a decade or so.

Forum Games / @venture -BASEMENT ADVENTURES-
« on: April 07, 2013, 09:37:18 PM »

!ntroduction
if it isn't immediately obvious by the name, this forum adventure is very heavily inspired by Rotondo's The @ Team, and, in turn, Rogue, and Roguelikes in general
the adventure is being played out in a small RPG maker game that i've been fleshing out lately; i'll periodically release the game itself so people can see what they might have missed or what might have happened if they'd made different decisions.

¢haracters

Ved
Level 1
A normal man being drawn into a paranormal war.

$pecial thanks
Rotondo, of course, for making The @ Team and reminding me that good old text parsing Roguelikes are always enjoyable. (even though it wasn't a text parser)
of course, the fine gentlemen behind Rogue, Hack, and NetHack for making the genre what it is today.
the surprisingly active community maintaining the NetHack Wiki, providing me with infinite resources regarding stats and glyphs.
everyone over at ChipMusic.Org for providing me with great music to back the game, specifically to John Marwin.
cactus, who has provided me with a ludicrous amount of inspiration.
finally, of course, to Enterbrain, for making such a surprisingly flexible and easy to use engine.
