Technically, before a girl has her period an (or more than one) egg is released and unless it is fertilized it simply gets discarded so many times it would be a waste product anyway. Makes sense to put it to good use.

The religious folk (especially the Catholics) seem to view any potential human life as precious. But every time a woman or a man uses a contraceptive they are killing off potential humans and for woman, by merely experiencing their monthly routine they are killing off potential so sin (according to them) is a natural occurrence?

The whole "life is sacred" line comes with a long list of clauses which truly undermine it's "sacredness".
Yup, exactly what I'm thinking.

It seems as soon as you try to make a rule absolute, no exceptions, you get a stuffload of holes in that rule because everything even remotely affiliated then also needs to be absolute. You very quickly get contradictions and it just falls apart. It could still be a very good standard to follow with some moral reasoning to back it up, but trying to make it no-exceptions will undoubtedly flaw it.

It's all circumstantial.

Both of you guys have very good points in my opinion.
More. Please.

Edit: Apparently medical scientists work fast as forget because they're already bypassing this whole issue by having stem cells reprogrammed from the adult human body, and are pretty close to getting it right.
Holy stuff, havent heard about that, this'll be good news.  Thanks Muffin.
Thanks General.

Cool Idea.
Reminds me of Survivorman.
Now all you have to do is build different biomes and you can survive in different types of environments =]
