« on: December 01, 2008, 07:52:23 PM »I thought stem cell research used cells from the umbilical cord? not from embryos?They can use cells from an umbilical cord as well. I think they use embryos more though. Theyre easier to make.

So I had to make a survey for any topic at school, and I need like at least 25 of them filled out. Im already late to turn it in, so I figured i can get it done fast on the forums. Please be serious when you fill it out. Also I know theres not many females on the forums, but if you can please help out. Its suppose to be only high school students too.

What are Stem Cells: Stem cells can develop into different cell types. They may offer a renewable source of replacement cells to treat diseases, conditions, and disabilities. There are two types of stem cells, embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells come from human embryos.
Do you think research on stem cells, can benefit everyone? Yes or No
Do you think sacrificing an embryo to help others is okay?

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being none, and 5 being many, how many people do you know personally know that would benefit from the stem cell?
