BF5 should not even happen.
It had a good run, but its getting out of hand.
Yeah, maybe it should change its games up a bit, do something different from the last 3 *hint* *hint* *wink* *wink* WW2

Truly spoken like someone who has no loving idea what they're talking about or what they were supposed to be responding to.
Why do you keep attacking every post I make? Who are you? What have I done to you? The rest of us are trying to have a discussion, so you can either join in and be productive or keep attacking my posts with irrelevant and pointless comments.

Also I don't understand why kiddies want realism in video games. Isn't the point of video games to escape reality?
I'd say (and I'm just guessing) that around....I don't know maybe 0% of the "kiddies" on these forums have fought in a war.

War is only a reality for a small and rapidly shrinking population of the world. If riding in a tank, flying a fighter plane, or shooting at German soldiers as they retreat deeper into the center of Berlin is not escaping reality, I don't know what is.

If I am going to experience a war scenario, like that of a WW2 battle, I'd like it to be, for the most part, realistic. And no matter how realistic it is, it's still not a reality I've witnessed.

On Modern Warfare 2, in a free for all game, I was getting frustrated from dying a few times in a row and so I took out a grenade launcher and shot it straight up. About a second after shooting it, I get killed by someone behind me.

I watch the kill cam for a few seconds and respawn. I take 2 steps forward and get blown up by my grenade launcher.

Then I pressed Start -> Leave Game -> Yes

This is the next generation of video game consumers. Completely blinded by advertising campaigns, convinced that superfluous stuff like "realism", graphical fidelity, and destruction physics is the most important part of any game, and that just because a game is old that means it's no longer good.

1942 fits the description you laid out in the OP entirely except for the unnecessary graphical elitism. It has maps set in Iwo Jima, Stalingrad, Berlin, Omaha Beach, pretty much half the loving war. It has more vehicle variety than the recent games, from half-tracks and heavy tanks to battleships and level bombers. It has completely functional warships that you can actually drive and fight with while people walk around on deck, a feature that has been totally blasted from the franchise for no discernable reason. It even has mod support that allowed people to recreate the loving Landkreuzer Ratte. But no, It's "old" and therefore bad. Well you can go forget yourself with the Schwerer Gustav for all I care because you're only hurting yourself by ignoring it. In fact, it being 12 years old is probably even better for you because that means that no matter how stuffty the computer you're typing this on is, you can almost assuredly run it.
You're an idiot. I'm not talking about 12 year old games here. I've played Battlefield 1943 and I loved it. It was extremely fun to play.

I'm not sure why you're going on this huge irrelevant rant and attacking me for saying "I like destruction in my video games." If you're going to keep talking about BF1942, please go make a separate topic because that's not what this is about.

You mean like, oh, I don't know, loving Battlefield 1942? The game with literally everything you asked for in the OP minus the worthless destruction physics?
Battlefield 1943 was released like 12 years ago, lol.

worthless destruction physics
I'm not going to play a WW2 game if there isn't destruction. I'd like it to be at least a little realistic, like the Battlefield games are.

are you loving SERIOUS
are you loving serious

battlefield more large scale than arma?? what the actual forget
Where did I say that...

That is literally exactly what arma is good at though

Anyway I wouldn't mind seeing some games set in Vietnam, we haven't had many of those lately
Yeah, I should have been more specific. I've fixed the OP now.

I'd really like to see an Arma game based on WW2.
I would prefer Battlefield because of the great graphics and destruction, and for its large scale battles. I also like the history behind WW2. I can just imagine the cool tanks rolling around, the fighter planes and bombers flying overhead, and the cool historic battle sites, like Berlin, Normandy Beach, Battle of Midway, Moscow, France, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, etc.

um

red orchestra 2?
red orchestra 2?

also wolfenstein new order
I mean console games. Also, RO2 doesn't really have the graphics and destruction like the Battlefield games.

Also, Wolfenstein doesn't take place during WW2, which is the entire idea of this topic.

Actually, I'm going to change the OP to be more specific.

Games / A WW2 Battlefield Game?
« on: May 06, 2014, 10:08:04 PM »
What do you guys think about a WW2 based Battlefield game?

It would have:
  • the cool physics and destruction that comes with any Battlefield game
  • historic battles in France, Germany, Russia, and Pacific battles like Iwo Jima and Battle of Midway
  • cool tanks, planes, and weapons from the WW2 era
  • infantry-specific multiplayer matches, air-battle matches, and maybe even naval battles, as well as matches with combinations of the 3

General Discussion / Re: Zix's Randomizer DM just broke
« on: May 06, 2014, 06:31:52 PM »
10 or 11 days ago (or 8) while people and me were playing on zix's server, the server just lagged up for everyone. And alot of people  left thinking it was their computer, but it was'nt. I stayed in the server with wrapper and more people. I asked: "What is happening?" Then wrapper said. "I think its zix's computer". So, i left the game and then the server was'nt in the server list. 5 hours later, the server was back.
Does this annoy anyone else?

Off Topic / Re: What the forget am I suppose to do here? (math)

In my class you got docked a half mark if you used square brackets with infinity, because [] means up to and including, and as we all know you cannot evaluate infinity, so you use (). Just trying to clarify in case it's the same way there. (Especially considering me and OP live in the same city, so he's probably taking the same course I did)
It was never specified whether or not to use brackets with ∞ when I learned this stuff. Well, whatever.
