Either way works. The brackets just mean greater/lesser than or equal to. The parentheses are for greater/lesser than.

So, for example, if the range for #3 was "-1 < x ≤ ∞" it could also be written as (-1, ∞].

I think that's how it works.

The pendulum part from Edgar Allen Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum."

If you're unfamiliar:

Basically, you're tied lying down on your back so that you can't move at all. Directly above you is a giant pendulum (like the the thing that swings in an old clock) that is a few meters above you. This pendulum, however, has a super-sharp blade. The pendulum swings back and forth slowly and every few swings, it drops down about a centimeter. It takes hours upon hours for the swinging blade to finally reach your abdomen. Once it does, it slowly begins to cut through your stomach, at first like a paper cut. It keeps lowering until it cuts well into your midsection as you bleed to death. It may take hours for you to die.

Just plug in numbers for x and then plot those points on the graph. So for #3, if you plug in 2, you get 3. Put a dot at (2,3).

The domain is how far the line reaches along the x-axis (left and right). The domain for #3, would be [∞,∞] because the line keeps going on forever to the left and right.

The range is how far the line extends along the y-axis (up and down). The range for #3 would be [-1, ∞] because the line goes no lower than -1 and keeps going up forever.

The vertex is the point where the line of symmetry cuts through. In #3, it would be at (0,-1) because it's the half way point of the line (or the 'U').

The max or min would simply be what's the highest and lowest value that the line reaches. For #3, the max would be ∞, and the min would be -1. It's basically the same as the range.

The y-intercept is where the line crossed the y-axes. In #3 it's at 0.

The axis of symmetry is basically "the halfway point of the line." This is represented by a dashed line. In #3, the dashed line should go up and down at 0. The written version to represent the line of symmetry for #3 would be x=0.

Also, when graphing, you need at least 3 points; the vertex and a point on either side of it (so it makes a U shape).

Crime should be dominating the gameplay to make it fun for the authority, the shop owners, and if criminals buy weapons, then the ore price would go up, making laborers earn more money. So crime is essential to the economy of this gamemode in my opinion.
It should NOT dominate the gameplay. I'm okay with pickpockets roaming, people murdering every once in a while, but not continuous killsprees.

I'm literally walking down the street and looking around as I make my way to my shop, looking for planes flying into my face, jeeps steamrolling me and grapple-shotgunners lighting me up. I hardly ever feel safe. It's becoming too much of a hassle.

The criminal/crime/jail/whatever system is so dumb in my opinion. Crime and Flash Mob have really been dominating the gameplay as of late. It's like 65% crime, 25% laboring, 5% building, and 5% other.

The St. Louis Blues' playoffs so far are almost EXACTLY like last years, it's extremely eerie.. Look at this:

St. Louis Blues Playoffs

2013 Round 1 Series versus the defending champs L.A. Kings
Game 1:  Steen scores game winning goal in overtime
Game 2:  Jackman scores game winning goal late in 3rd period
Game 3:  Blues out-shoot Kings by 9, but get shutout
Game 4:  Blues give up 3-2 lead and lose 4-3
Game 5:  Kings lead 1-0, then Blues tie 1-1, then Kings lead 2-1, then Blues tie 2-2, then Kings win 3-2 in overtime

2014 Round 1 versus the defending champs Chicago Blackhawks
Game 1:  Steen scores game winning goal in overtime
Game 2:  Jackman scores game winning goal in overtime
Game 3:  Blues out-shoot Blackhawks by 9, but get shutout
Game 4:  Blues give up 3-2 lead and lose 4-3
Game 5:  Blackhawks lead 1-0, then Blues tie 1-1, the Blackhawks lead 2-1, then Blues tie 2-2, then Blackhawks win 3-2 in overtime
  • The Blackhawks' lucky overtime goal is scored when Keith slaps the puck off of Shaw's shin guard, bouncing all the way down the ice to Toews who gets a breakaway and scores
  • The Blues' tying goal to take the game to overtime is scored by Pietrangelo, assisted by Schwartz

In both series, the Blues faced the defending Stanley cup champions. In both series, the Blues had home ice advantage.

History is repeating. How about the Blues write the next chapter and make this textbook a little more interesting?

Can't watch the video but I saw it yesterday. IMO Seabrook did it on purpose. He is seen bracing for impact ahead of time and jumps towards his (Backes') head. I don't have an opinion on duration of suspension though.
He was suspended for 3 games. I think it's fitting.

Guys, before you diagnose the poor guy with Paranoid Schizophrenia, can you step back with your internet-psychiatry degree for a second? Mental disorders are extremely hard to diagnose and most people don't fit into a cookie-cutter symptom list. What's more likely is that OP has depression. This is not a diagnosis, but it's really common for people with depression to lack empathy for others, like to be alone, feel little emotion, be antisocial, and be apathetic towards things like school and work.

OP, do yourself a favor and just talk to the psychiatrist. Tell him the truth, he's not there to hurt you.
Depression requires that the person has feelings of sadness, loss, or frustration. The OP has said several times that he doesn't really feel emotions. If depression were the problem, the OP would have most definitely mentioned being down in the dumps or being frustrated. He's more so just apathetic towards everything, on top of being aggressive and lacking the ability of being social.

There's a big difference between feeling sad and not feeling at all.

Antisocial personality disorder:
>fail to conform to social norms and follow the law
>deceptive; lie to people for personal gain
>fail to plan ahead
>aggresiveness; physical fights or assaults
>disregard safety of others
>consistently irresponsible; unable to honor obligations, like school or work
>lack of remorse

You do not have to answer any of these questions if you do not want to.

anger and not feeling remorse for other's feelings

I don't really feel happiness, and like to be alone. I don't express my feelings with anyone.
i honestly don't feel any emotion, or i can't sense what i'm feeling.
Do you feel anything when doing something like riding a roller coaster, or anything exciting that would cause adrenaline?

actually now that I do think about it, it does affect my life.
A disorder can only be diagnosed if the person with it feels that it is causing them suffering and if it's hindering their ability to be productive.

i could care less about school/college and my future.
Do you sometimes act impulsive? This means that you do things without thinking about them, or you don't plan ahead. Not caring about your future can be a failure to plan ahead.

i can't come up to random people and start a conversation, it's very difficult. i feel the need to do it but i can't.
Do you avoid conversations?

Do you go against the norm often?
Do you lie to people or deceive people for your own benefit?
Have you gotten into fights or felt as though you wanted to fight someone?
Do you find yourself not really caring about what happens to people?
Do you repeatedly fail to follow orders or complete school work?
Do you think you have a problem, and if so, do you think it's harming you in any way?

I am in no way able to diagnose you with anything, obviously, and you don't even have to answer my questions if you don't want to. That's your choice.

Also, this disorder can't even be diagnosed if you're younger than 18. However, signs of the disorder can show up at young ages and can develop into the full-blown thing.
