what about BZ2?

I've seen videos of BZ2. It was made with the Torque engine too. It's a stuffty game though. More units, yeah, but there were tons of bugs, support was hard-to-get, and the story was complete crap. It got x5 more negative reviews than positive.
Battlezone got barely any negative views, it was viewed as the best RTS of it's time. (Half-Life won best FPS.)

if you can animate it you can do it

although if you want collision that can be rather buggy

No collision, you can fix that with normal bricks. It could be useful for something like the teleport in HL2.
