Off Topic / I hate this year.
« on: September 18, 2008, 10:28:18 PM »
Well, as most of you know, I haven't been around here for a long, long time. There is a perfectly good explanation for this, and I'll tell you why:

First: Grades.Let me just say right now that being a junior in high school is no loving picnic. I've already had my grades drop to C or D averages and we're only in the fourth week of school, but this happens to me almost every year anyways but I swore to myself this year would be different. Guess not.

Second: Marching band. I used to love it and dedicate my life to it, because to be honest, I have a lifelong passion for music. This year, however, it sucks horribly. We have this new assistant band director from Ohio State University and of course, he has very high standards of what a marching band should be like. So because of this, we're being pushed incredibly hard this year and all the fun things we used to do have been pushed out of the way and canceled and such to make room for practice, practice, practice, practice, practice. Everyone in band is pretty much losing their minds and getting pissed off, and so am I.

Third: Homecoming/Girls. God loving dammit this is where I royally forgeted up. For privacy reasons, I am going to call these two girls "Saxophone" and "Annoying Orangeet" because those are the instruments each girl plays, respectively. So "Saxophone" and I have been friends for a good long while, I would say about 5 years. Now as you all know, dating a friend you've known for that long and getting intimate with them would be awkward to say the least. I was faced with a decision at the beginning of this year: would I ask "Saxophone" or "Annoying Orangeet" to homecoming? I picked "Saxophone" although I was somewhat skeptical of my decision. "Annoying Orangeet" however had some extreme feelings for me and wanted to go with me. I felt bad about this because for some reason, I had picked "Saxophone" while I had the same feelings for "Annoying Orangeet". So about a week after I had asked "Saxophone" to homecoming I was starting to get a bit weirded out because she was starting to get all "cuddly" with me if that is the word I'm looking for. Now this is where I wanted out. Luckily, she said that she did something stupid: about a month ago she promised her ex-boyfriend she would go to homecoming with him. She said she didn't like breaking promises, so she said she was going to go with him but still wanted to get into something with me. I, upon hearing this news, was overjoyed that I was free of this awkwardness. The night after she re-asked me because she "felt horrible" and I said no. Since then, even though I had made it painfully clear I didn't want to get all "cuddly" with her anymore, she has still been trying to get all up on me and it's annoying the stuff out of me.

This is where "Annoying Orangeet" comes back in. Now that I was free from the evil death grip of awkwardness of "Saxophone", I was excited to go ask out "Annoying Orangeet" because I had strong feelings for her. Knowing she had the same, I knew this would be a cakewalk. But luck seems to enjoy playing this little game with me called "Now I get to forget with you." Apparently, "Annoying Orangeet" had a boyfriend now, they had only been dating for two days or so. She found out I still had feelings for her and started to get severely confused. She said she still had feelings for me but couldn't break up with who she is with now because she likes him too. This was a huge smack in the face for me.

In conclusion, I am now living a horrible twisted nightmare version of my normal life where band sucks horribly, school is going in the stuffter, and I have no homecoming date.

The only good thing that has come from this year is that I decided to give Drama Club a try. We're doing "Grease" for our first production of the year and apparently I have a phenomenal singing voice. Therefore I have been given the part of an understudy for one of the lead characters. This means that if the person actually playing that character is sick or something happens, I go on in his place. Otherwise, I'm just in the chorus. But others have told me that this is very impressive for my first show ever.

tl;dr: Get the forget out and don't even bother posting. If you actually read this through completely, feel free to post your thoughts on this situation. If you're just here to try to be funny, leave. I don't want to deal with your stuffty humor right now.

Suggestions & Requests / New Event Output - setPlayerAvatar
« on: August 22, 2008, 01:12:09 AM »
I'm not sure if this is an entirely possible suggestion, or if it's even a good one because there would be ways to abuse it, but I really would like to see a setPlayerAvatar output for the events.

For example, you walk over a brick and your appearance is changed to a preset avatar done with some kind of gui. I'm not exactly sure how it would all be done.

Just a little suggestion that, in my opinion, would be neat to see.

So we just now got back from Indiana after being there the whole day randomly going around a few lakes on our boat. We met up with some neighbors that live right next door to us and they happened to be camping in a campground right on this lake we had decided to go water skiing on. Apparently they had a whole group of their friends and such there, as well, and they were having this big dinner or whatever. We were invited to join them, so we did, seeing as how we hadn't had dinner yet. To give a bit of explanation as to why this next thing happened, for the past week or so I've been drinking nothing but soda, leaving me horribly dehydrated without even knowing it. So anyways, we just parked our boat in a nearby marina and went to their campsite to have some dinner. The mashed potatoes are usually what I head for first, and they had some. Little did I know that these things were scalding hot. Like, 200,000 degrees in the middle of the fiery pits of hell hot. I took a huge bite, and by the time I realized that they were this unusual temperature, the blob of mashed potatoes had firmly lodged itself in my throat, causing some severe burns to occur. I jumped up out of my seat, ran over to my parents in an effort to look for water (remember how I said I was horribly dehydrated, and we'd just got off our boat so I was still trying to get my bearings on land) and I began to lose consciousness. Apparently I went completely limp, slammed my head on the edge of a table and fell straight to the ground. Now, you should know that this has never happened to me before, so even now, 6 hours later, I'm still in shock. I regained consciousness shortly after my head-on collision with the dirt and was being lifted into a chair by my parents. Just thought I should share this story because it interested me (and scared me) at how this all happened.

Yesterday we had to put one of my dogs to sleep. At first I didn't really care but it didn't actually hit me until last night. Now I can't focus on anything because all I can think about is that.

I've recently been working on a new vehicle, and everything has been going smoothly, except for one major problem I can't seem to figure out. The player collides with the model just fine, and it was a collision box fitted to it. However, when a projectile is fired at the vehicle, it passes right through, doing no damage whatsoever. This is also the same issue when the vehicle flips over and one tries to use the hammer to flip it back up. No weapon of any kind has an effect on the vehicle. Would anyone kindly help me with this issue?

Help / Console Spam in Dedicated Server
« on: April 23, 2008, 08:18:01 PM »
So yeah, I've been recently running a dedicated server for my clan, and it's been going fine until now. The server itself seems to be fine when I enter it, but in the console, it's a completely different story:

Code: [Select]
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22552): Unable to find object: '' attempting to call function 'getClassName'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22556): Unable to find object: '' attempting to call function 'getClassName'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22560): Unable to find object: '' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22574): Unable to find object: '' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22583): Unable to find object: '' attempting to call function 'getType'

base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22592): Unable to find object: '' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22605): Unable to find object: '' attempting to call function 'getGroup'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22552): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getClassName'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22556): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getClassName'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22560): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22574): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22583): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22587): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22592): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getType'
base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs (22605): Unable to find object: '69745' attempting to call function 'getGroup'

This huge segment then goes on repeating itself rapidly. I have no idea what could be causing it, as everything in the server seems to be working just fine.

Music / Spaceship Noises
« on: April 16, 2008, 07:27:26 PM »
I created this sound for an alarm in a spaceship or space station, but you can use it for whatever.

Some of you may also recognize where this sound is from.  :cookieMonster:

EDIT: I've added another sound to this. It's the same alarm noise, but this one has a computer-ish voice saying "Emergency! Main reactor failure!"

Perfect for those spaceships.

Games / Diablo II: Should I buy it?
« on: April 15, 2008, 09:44:11 PM »
Recently a few friends at school have been trying to convince me to buy Diablo II. I'm not sure, however. I know it's an old game, but they say it's pretty fun.

Opinions?

Go take a look at the Off-Topic section. You'll see that a good number of those topics are made by Justin1221. Not to mention that those topics were all created within the course of 10 hours. I mean, is this really necessary?

I never once had to click on the "forgot password" function, so apparently someone else did. Not sure who exactly would feel the need to try and break into my account, though.

Gallery / Ace's MotE Application: Golden Gate Bridge
« on: March 24, 2008, 11:50:37 PM »
Alright, I've gotten tired of this thing just sitting there, as I've been waiting for a while now to post it. So, I'll just get it over with and we'll see where it goes.

The Golden Gate

This is my second attempt at an application for MotE. It's the Golden Gate Bridge that's located in the San Francisco bay. Took me roughly two days to build, and it contains somewhere around 45k bricks. But enough of me talking about it, I'll let you judge for yourselves. Thank you, and I hope this build meets the clan's standards. It would be a great honor for me to be able to wear the MotE tag.

Screenshots
(I apologize for the vast amounts of screenshots.)

Again, thank you for your time, and I hope you find this build favorable, and I look forward to hearing from you all.
