Gallery / Ace's MotE Application
« on: February 10, 2008, 06:15:35 PM »
Well, here's my application. It's an underground base in the MotE server. The brick count is 2996, and it took me about 5 hours to make. However, the pictures you are about to see don't display it well, so if you really want to get a good look at it, it's in the MotE server, marked with a sign.

Pictures:

One of the entrances, which is a small service lift:

The hallway that goes from the service lift into the main base:

The main room, which features a curved ceiling and two console stations. In the background, you can see the hallway that leads to the power core, the server room, and the main elevator:

The server room, which controls the entire system in the base:

The power core of the base:

Again, if you want to get a better look at it, it's in the MotE server. Just look for the sign that reads "Ace's App"

Help / Blockland appears to be completely broken.
« on: February 05, 2008, 07:36:05 PM »
Right, so for some reason, whenever I attempt to start up Blockland, all that happens is the console comes up and displays the regular startup information, then repeats that over and over and over. Nothing else happens.

I've included the console log.

Gallery / Ace's Epic Warehouse TDM v2
« on: February 04, 2008, 07:12:03 PM »
So here it is, the Team Deathmatch build that I finished yesterday.

It's a small warehouse, with two equal sides, one for the red team and one for the blue team. It's been expanded since the last update, so it's now in v2. Here are some extreme shots from within the chaos:

Much thanks to Magoo, dUMBELLS, XD!, Ladios, Laremere, and Ghoul for their help on this.

Mapping Help / Two Questions...
« on: October 25, 2007, 02:55:14 PM »
I have two questions... (duh)

1: Is it possible to delete the terrain from a map completely, so that it's just like being in the air? (Don't ask why, long story.)

2: Could someone possibly make me a skybox, I need it looking stormy, and high up in the clouds. I also need it so that there's no black box when you look down, just stormy clouds all around.

Mapping Help / Torque Constructor Problem...
« on: October 17, 2007, 09:19:10 PM »
I'm working on this interior, and it uses somewhere around 40 brushes. Is there a way to put them all together, like as one shape, to cut down on faces?

Help / Odd Server Behavior
« on: October 11, 2007, 09:42:39 PM »
I have just forwarded my ports, so now I can host servers.

Unfortunately, I get tons of lag when someone joins. They say that they aren't experiencing any lag. This happens with anyone who joins.

Any idea what is going on?

I have closed out of all background tasks, I have opened ports 28000-28030, and I have enabled both TCP and UDP. My internet connection is also pretty good.

Mapping Help / A quick question about interiors...
« on: October 10, 2007, 02:32:17 PM »
If I post a map with a custom made interior in it, do I need to include the texture files that are on the interior?

If so, then where?

I've also got another question.

Whenever I try to use the foliage replicator, I place it, size it, then when I type in the tree's file name, Blockland crashes.

Help / Slow server loading
« on: October 06, 2007, 10:26:24 PM »
My internet connection is perfectly fine, but for some reason, when I query the master server for the list of servers, it takes literally forever to load.

Forum Games / Territory Wars 2: Arctic Assault
« on: October 01, 2007, 04:40:42 PM »

The year is 2357.
The collapse of world order has just taken place, after excessive
nuclear warfare has rendered the planet Earth uninhabitable...

...Well, most of it...

Recent advances in thermal technology have enabled humans to
withstand the most extreme temperatures. By collecting and
concentrating newly discovered "thermal cells" found in pockets
in the Earth's crust, they can provide humans with long-lasting heat
and energy. These thermal cells are extracted from the ground
using Thermal Plants.

This new technology has come at just the right time, seeing as
the only place left on Earth for humans to go, is...

Antarctica
[/b]
Countries have collapsed, leaving large groups of humans
to take care of themselves. The arctic continent is now being fought
over in an attempt to survive. These groups of humans must establish
functional colonies in order to live, and they must wipe out all competition,
no matter the cost...

Rules:
  • Only three moves are allowed each round. These moves will be either buying something or issuing a command (Go to war with, Attack, Retreat, etc.)
  • When purchasing something, it MUST be something shown in the map key.
  • Moves such as strengthen economy, increase population, etc. are not necessary.
  • Each round, each country's economy will increase by $100 (In thousands).
  • Each round, each country's population will increase by 100 people.
  • Researching is not needed.
  • No god-playing, making things appear, etc.
  • Do not make moves that will kill everyone. These are impossible to make, anyways, with the given items.
  • You MUST be able to afford what you plan to buy when you make your move.
  • Countries start out with $500.
  • Alliances and Trades do not exist here. It's every man for himself.
  • This is a serious game. Immaturity or anything of the sort will not be tolerated.

Item Costs and Descriptions:
  • Capitol City - Given at start - This is the center of your nation. The disc around it will hold your nation's color. This city is a vital component, and if it should fall, your country will go with it. Comes with one Thermal Plant.
  • Small City (0-200) - $100 - This is the start of a new city in your country. It costs $100, and that's all you will need to pay for it. It will expand as your population grows. It can contain up to 200 citizens.
  • Medium City (200-1000) - Upgrade from Small City - This is a larger city than it's previous form, but it's still small. It can contain up to 1000 citizens.
  • Large City (1000-5000) - Upgrade from Medium City - This is a much larger, much more productive city. It can contain up to 5000 citizens.
  • Metropolis (5000+) - Upgrade from Large City - This is the largest city. It is the most productive, and it plays an important role in your country. This can contain more than 5000 citizens.
  • Military Base - $100 - This is your basic military base. It produces 100 military troops per round.
  • Airfield - $300 - This airfield produces versatile fighter/bomber combination jets. It produces 10 jets per round.
  • Defense Cannon - $150 - This is your general all-purpose defense cannon. Place this near your borders to keep out unwanted visitors. Fires heavy plasma shells.
  • Outpost - $50 - This basic watchtower will help defend against enemy infantry.
  • Sea Factory - $300 - This factory produces heavy destroyer ships. Five ships are made per round.
  • Land Factory - $250 - This factory produces heavy tanks. 10 tanks are created per round.
  • Missile Silo - $600 - This nifty little structure can launch a nice little cruise missile across the continent that can take a big ol' chunk out of a city, or take down some approaching tanks or mechs. This doesn't come that easy, because it takes 10 turns to build a missile. Use wisely!
  • Thermal Plant - $100 - Without these, your cities won't last. These extract thermal cells from the ground. These are vital structures, and you'll need more and more as your population grows. You get one free with your capitol city.
  • Anti-Air Battery - $150 - These nifty little turrets can take down a fleet of jets in a matter of seconds, as long as the jets are within range. of the turret.
  • Air Fleet - Consists of 10-30 jets.
  • Sea Fleet - Consists of 5-15 ships.
  • Land Force - Consists of 100-500 infantry and 10-20 tanks.
  • Mech Factory - $400 - This factory produces 5 heavy mechs per round.
  • Mech Fleet - Consists of 5-10 mechs.
  • Ion Cannon - $2000 - This is it. The big one. This massive cannon can send a beam up into the atmosphere that will come crashing down on the target of your choosing, wiping out all within 50 miles of the center. This cannon takes 15 turns after it's purchase to fire, and after that, 10 turns to recharge.

When you first create your nation, you MUST make your post in this format:

-Country Name
-Country Color
-Leader Name (Your Forum Name, Please)
-Territory Number

Then, you must post your three actions. Remember, they can only be purchasing and placing an item, or making some kind of command. (ex: Purchase land factory on the northern coast.) Please make all posts neat and organized, so it is easier for me to figure out what you're doing. Also, PLEASE be serious with your posts. I don't want ANY memes in this game.

When you first register your country, I will take what you have posted and put it into this post at the bottom, with the other countries listed. Check back on this first post often, because there will be map updates here, along with your updated economy and population. I will post when things have been updated. NO new turns can be taken until I say there has been an update.

Good Luck...

Here is the game map. You'll need to click on it for the full picture,
because it is a large image. Enjoy!

Help / Blockland is acting...strange...
« on: September 23, 2007, 11:49:28 AM »
Alright, here's the issue:

Problem #1: When I start up Blockland, I get the console window. The first 3 or 4 lines appear, then it just sits there for a few minutes. It eventually starts up after waiting for an unusually long amount of time.

Problem #2: Everything in Blockland, every server for me, lags like there's no tomorrow. I don't know what the deal is...

Forum Games / Territory Wars 2007!
« on: September 21, 2007, 04:02:02 PM »

Alright, I got this idea after playing a few other ones on these forums, and the creator gave up on both it seems. The new twist is... it's Earth! So, here's the deal...

  • You will choose a territory in your post by it's number.
  • Two actions for your territory can be made in a post.
  • DO NOT make any more actions until the picture has been updated.

Choosing your territory in your post must me typed like this:

  • Territory Name
  • Number
  • Color
  • First two actions for your territory

Rules:
  • Nukes and bombs cannot be made at this time.
  • You cannot make a move that will "kill everyone except you."
  • You can make two moves such as researching a tech, finishing researching a tech, building something important, declaring peace/alliance/war, making ONE strategic movement (if at war), etc.
  • Moves must be realistic, and sensible.
  • Do NOT edit this image by yourself and post it here.
  • Please, NO flaming...

Here's the map:

The map will be updated here, in the main post. New posts to update the map will NOT be made. I will update the image when I have time, so please be patient. Check this main post for updates.

Alright, have fun!

(Also, I'm sorry if the tiny drawings for the moves aren't THAT good, they're very tiny and very hard to work with.)

Here's a new song loop, use it for whatever. Rate if you wish.

EDIT: Sure would be nice to know what people think of this, and my other song loop. It would give me a reason to make more.

This could make great fighting music, in my opinion, so here ya go, tell me what you think.

Modification Help / Audacity Problem...
« on: September 10, 2007, 03:11:12 PM »
Alright, I'm trying to make a loop for the game, and for some reason, I imported the MP3 into Audacity, and when I click play, all it does is just make a fast squeaking noise, and I can't actually hear the regular track. Some help would be nice.
