A combination of BOINC Manager, FL Studio, and heavy workstation processing work that requires a powerful GPU and CPU.

Games might be played on it, but only sparingly.

And you can too, for only $3850 + shipping and handling. [acting like that isnt a lot]

Airflow concerns, the video card bar support, water cooling support, but the main reason is a preference of RV01 over RV03 and the motherboard being turned 90 degrees clockwise.

Do not make me go into the reasons for this build. The power is necessary for the operations that will be done with both the GPU and CPU.

Sealed water cooling was also a necessity, and dual Ethernet ports as well as BT 3.0 with a desirable UEFI BIOS was the reason for the P9X79 DELUXE choice.

We have money to blow, so these choices were made.

PC Case = Raven RV01 = $230
PSU = Lepa G Series 1600W PSU = $330
Motherboard = ASUS P9X79 DELUXE = $370
CPU(s) = i7 3960x = $1030
CPU Coolers(s) = Thermaltake WATER2.0 = $90
RAM = G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB 4x8GB = $230
Video Card = GTX 690 = $1000
HDD(s) 1 = SanDisk SGSSDX-G25 120GB = $140
       2 = HITACHI Deskstar 0S03230 2TB = $200
DVD-Drive = (USE PREVIOUS)
Media Reader = Scythe Kama-Panel 3 = $40
Sound Card = X-Fi HD Titanium = $160

Total: $3820

The reasons for this increasingly expensive build are classified. (aka, Im too lazy to put together the many reasons for this $4000 budget PC being made as it is)

?
It's slate.. it's infinite.

Slate isn't infinite, but it will be made that way for the update.

At one point in Slate, going far out enough causes the buildable area to cease. No, its not infinite right now.

Same computer?

Lol, NO.

If you're gonna think about running the new Blockland with shaders on a huge monitor (say, anything greater than 1280x720) using something like an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator, think again.

Some of you people running something really really old will be forced to spend some money if you wanna keep playing Blockland maxed out.

Without terrains and interiors complicating the code of Blockland, I think we can all agree Blockland may get much more in store for its future after V21's release.

I tried to make a topic about this, but it dissapeared/was deleted. I have no idea why. I was trying to help people.

This was a poor attempt bringing back an old v8 build we had. At least, rebuilding it exactly like it was with some extra stuff in. So of course its boxy looks appear like it is noobish. Im not sure why he posted pictures of it here.

Addendum: He tacked on MLP as a name for the hotel so normally it didnt have anything to do with it.

Sometimes I think you/me overbuilt it. It didnt need this many floors because there were more than 99 rooms, which is absurd because a blockland server can only theoretically support 99 players at most, which the extra bricks could have been used for more wall detail.

IMHO though.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: AFK Spawn
« on: June 15, 2012, 11:40:47 AM »
Bump, this might be interesting, but you'd do your best to prevent this from being exploited to auto-TP to another spawn instead of the AFK Spawn.

Instead of an AFK Spawn, I'd suggest an auto team mover so the player is moved to an AFK Group, and thus, teleported to an AFK Spawn.

Bricks are static shapes. They will never be able to move like players and vehicles do.

I could go off on a limb describing the mechanics of potential "dynamic bricks" in Blockland instead of our standard static fixed bricks which would allow for the physical placement of vehicles instead of their spawn points, but lets face it, this is ludicrously impossible to implement.

I wouldnt talk about this one anymore. Still, points for creativity.

Because, you know, everything is a competition.

No seriously, stop making these like 1 game is always better. I can play as many games as I want.

It happens with CoD/Battlefield
It happens here with Blockland/Roblox
It happens with DC/Marvel
It used to happen with Wow/Runescape years ago.

Stop it, please. These fights are completely...

.. POINTLESS.
