no.
i wear nike high tops and addidas, 2 pairs of nikes and 1 pair of addidas.
i dont mind there shoes, dont own a pair, never probably will, but yea.
I dont mind skate borders, jsut when they say stupid stuff like "its a skatepark not a bmxpark" or stupid stuff like that.
but scooters should just go home.

Im fine with BMXers, I even did BMX before skateboarding.
my park doesn't allow BMXers and you can get kicked out if you enter with a BMX. they say because its big its too dangerous

im just giving OP advice on my personally opinion, no one said he had to follow yours, no one said he had to follow mine. Im just saying what works best for me.

He also has a lot of dings on the side edges and tips of the nose from flinging it in rage. There's no way those would occur like that naturally doing tricks it would have to be from being really bad and always tossing the board into stuff with your feet or picking it up and throwing or slamming it against objects.
overflipping kickflips and catching it on the wrong side. but that little chip on the tail is from rage, not denying that part.
but wouldent the objicts get dead?????///
you're so loving hilarious man 10/10 just kidding you're an unfunny friend
He's probably one of those guys that screams "forgetIN BOARD ISNT WORKING RIGHT MAN SHOULDA BOUGHT THE $80 DECK THIS PIECE OF stuff BLANK IS MAKING ME BAD MAN ITS THE REASON IM NOT PRO"
i love how you just jump to conclusions

he probably couldn't land an ollie and broke it in a rage because he's so bad. It looks like it was broken by stomping because its such a clean cut through usually when you break a board from riding it it cracks slightly and then you crack it yourself and it leaves a chunk hanging on one side.
it was just a simple boardslide that broke it, nothing more nothing less

Everything skateaton said is like horrible advice. He's one of those kids that spends 8 hours a day reading and talking about skateboarding and 20 minutes a week actually doing it.

stick with blank board/grip tape/wheels trust me you will never notice any difference in the slightest. Back when I skated bones were the best bearings specifically bones swiss but go ahead and get any abec 5s of good quality ask the guy there hopefully he knows(local skate shops are usually run by people they sponsor that are extremely good so should know)

board size is based entirely on preference shoe size really has no difference. I knew a guy that was a pro that worked at the skate shop by my house and he was a 6'8 black guy with size 15 shoes and he used a 7.5 board because he was an extremely technical rider and gave up ease of use for easier flipping. I myself was a heshan style rider doing big stairs and big drops and actually rode a 10" board for more durability and easier landing on it. When you go in to get a board you really need to feel them out and decide on a good starting area. Since you said you just want to ride around with it and do a few tricks I'd highly recommend 8.5-9.

Also those old school vans are probably the worst possible shoes you can ever skate with in your life.
again, its all preference, but mob is loving amazing, indies are loving amazing,

and never once did i notice a difference with blanks

oooh wait, i did. after 3 weeks.

Fak u.
I dont know, I dont skate vans. Try em out? The skateboarding models rip extremely easy too (3 months) compared to my lakais (6 months and counting)
Skateboarding is overrated.
Another reason why we dont like zumiez.
take notes, OP.

Skate you're being too helpful haha, thanks bro. I'll write this stuff down and bring it to a skate shop eventually. I have some Vans, would those work for skating? :o
If they're skateboarding specific models, yes, perfect. If they're just your average vans, well, yes and no. they will for two days (with mob, 1 day) they're flimsy pieces of stuff compared to their skateboarding models

if zumiez has blank decks get a blank, they are cheaper and sacrifice no quality.
1. forget zumiez, every skateshop has blanks.
2. from my experience, they had lacked a bit.

Okay OP, judging from your size 10, i'd look for these in a board:

1. Ask for a size 8, they're easier for feet bigger then a 9.0
2. Ask for SHAKE JUNT bearings (ABEC 5s, ABEC 3s suck) because IMO, they're better then Reds
3. Ask for Bones wheels.
4. For trucks, buy ventures if you're in the mood to be a complete handicap. (just kidding, they suck) EVERYTHING BUT INDIPENDENTS ARE stuff. Ask for Size 8 independents (size 8 to go with your board)
5. Get MOB GRIPTAPE, if they dont have MOB, get SHAKE JUNT SUN! DAT stuffZ MONEY$$$$$$ (they have excellent grip and you wont be falling off any time soon
6. You NEED skateboarding shoes, no exceptions. Get the Lakai manchesters.

Tips about a board:
Krooked does NOT make a straight 8, they make an 8.18, 8.25, these are unneccesarily large and are no good for your shoe size.
Plan B is TERRIBLE
Mystery, threat, and Zero are literally by the same manufacturer, and are no different.

trucks are around 20 dollars ea.
so, hold on, liking brands means i have to support what they like to?
wtf skateon.
you're missing my point.
"waaah i hate skateboarding but let me wear this hat that makes me look like a skateboarder awww yeah and what about these shoes designed for skateboarders yeah tottaly not a skateboarder guys i hate skateboarding hahaha"

I thought it was kinda ridiculous before reading the post, but Pinkamena actually seems like a really cool and unique name.

Haha, that's pretty embarassing of Zumiez. I live in Bloomington, MN, I went to the Mall of America.
I found a website dedicated to skateboarding in minnesota.
http://www.mnskateboarder.com/directory.php
I hope you mean actual streetboard and not a loving longboard, if its a longboard then im done helping you.

A few things else to help you.

Shoe size?
Do you want your skateboard to grip onto concrete or slide more?
What kind of skateboarding do you wanna do?
Are you also going to use it for transportation?
Do you mind the sound of rolling wheels?

well.
first problem is the skate board.
try BMX.
the ironic thing is that you love brands like Diamond Supply Co, and Supra, which sponsors skateboarders.

also, forget. THE. MALL.
support your local shop. Why?
The mall store is run by non skaters who just need a job, and they are no help. I was in a zumiez and i, i, ME, I HAD TO GO TO THE loving COUNTER TO SET UP ANOTHER KIDS BOARD BECAUSE THEY HAD NO IDEA HOW.

I could help you further with these links:

www.ccs.com
www.warehouseskateboards.com

OP, where do you live? City and state, that could help me locate a shop too.

why even bother trying to reason with them, if you cant realize something that stupid is dumb right off the bat then they obviously have no sense.
because its fun to win an argument :)

guys, everyone's going to be bullied, so why dont we shut the forget up?
Quote from: me
Okay lets look at this at a non bully standpoint.

If you were to apply for a job (something you deviantards dont know of), do you really loving think they're going to pick someone named "Pinkamena Zecora"? That makes their company look like a joke.
