Your name is Paige. You just started your summer vacation from school and your parents are away on business.

Your babysitter is a mean, old woman and she's locked you firmly in your room.

Behind you is your dresser and your autographed Bakshi poster (probably worth millions) your father lent you.

What shall we do?


COMBAT/ACTIONS

To play this game we're gonna keep things simple. When you initiate a command when in combat, or using a particular skill that isn't just walking/talking, I'll roll a d6 to conclude the outcome. We're going on the epic fail-epic win scale of rolls, as such:

6 - EPIC WIN: Your action succeeds better than you could imagine and you even do some bonus damage.
5 - WIN: Your action succeeds brilliantly, you deal some bonus damage but not as much as a 6.
4 - COOL: Things go well and you look cool doing it. No bonus damage.
3- MEH: Your action neither succeeds or fails, it just sort of happens. Still pretty good, but you probably won't deal as much damage.
2 - FAIL: Your action fails pretty badly, you even take a little damage as a result.
1 - EPIC FAIL: Every bad thing that could happen does happen and you take some heavy damage as a result.

This isn't really a drama post as I don't actively wish to call out Kalphiter for this, and my main interest lies with the subreddit, however:

I was just googling my name (trying to see if I could find any internet stuff I made pre-2010) and on the second page of results, there was that.

So, like, firstly, this is the like the third time a drama topic was made about me (this time on another site altogether) and I never even saw it. This shows how little I care about what any of you think about me.

Secondly, holy stuff the last update to the subreddit was four months ago? A long time ago, sure, but relatively speaking it's not at all. The drama post about me is two years old for scale.

I'm not going to post this to drama because this is a topic more aimed at discussing the blockland subreddit I didn't even know existed, but I will say this:

Kalphiter, if you're even still on this site, why not have the BALLS to call me out on main??!!

Games / Swholli plays EVERY NES GAME EVER - A Video Series

What?

What started back in February as an idea I had for Freek and I to do a collab video soon turned into a stand alone venture as a pilot for a new web show I was working on. So, the maiden voyage of The Swholli Show turned into this. It was originally gonna be one long episode, but I realized quickly that 700+ games in one video, even at 30 seconds devoted to a game, that'd be a loving five hour video.

This should prove to be a daunting task to finish, so the idea now is to just have it be an ongoing series where I play about 20-25 games per episode and finish it over the course of a couple of months.

Right now there's only one episode (split into two parts because it wasn't originally supposed to be uploaded) but you can watch those here now:





As always, feedback is always appreciated!

The Scores

By the end of the series the idea is to take my top ten favorite games and my top ten worst games, and seeing how I'll have experience playing every goddamned game my list probably won't look like everyone's list. I'll give more in-depth reviews of the twenty best/worst games at the end.

Help / Blockland takes minutes to load and won't authenticate

This is a pretty weird error as far as I can tell, I've asked a few other players if they're having this problem and so far it seems it's just me.

I've tried both Steam and non-Steam versions and still have the same error, Blockland is taking forever just to get into the main menu, and once I'm finally in, I can't seem to connect to the master server.

I've tried a completely clean install (so I don't believe it's any add-ons) and have verified the integrity of the game chache on Steam, nothing seems to work.

I've included both console logs from the steam and non-steam versions, maybe someone can tell me what I need to do to fix this. Thanks.

Welp. Another year another milestone. Another step closer to death.

If you're wondering what that image above is, it's a reference to my once chipper, endearing self.  The times have changed.

In that post I made a shout out to all my favorite friends on Blockland, here's what it said:

Darkstar who I first hated but then turned out to really like. He does special effects. And he likes to make movie, so he's right up my ally.

And then last I suppose just a general thank you to rest of the community for laughing at my posts and drawings, supporting Block Wars, or just making me laugh. It's you guys who make this place worth spending two religious years of my life to.

Oh and, saving the best for last, Badspot because without him I wouldn't be talking to you all here today.

You knew it was happening, we all knew this day was coming, and here we are.

Block Wars... 2.

Otherwise known as (for those who weren't aware of this title) Block Wars: Episode V - The Blockpire Done Goofed.

Let's hope to loving god this one doesn't take nine years to complete.

I know what you might be thinking, Swholli, if you're on vacation in New York city, why didn't you just wait until you got back to create this topic with proper graphics and not use a logo you made 7 years ago? Well the answer is that something big (or should I say someone big) has happened. I can't reveal the surprise yet, but let's just say I have a good one.

So, I'm here to announce that we are officially in pre-production mode. The script is still being written by myself and JJJMan (Cowboy Dude), and we're about a quarter of a way finished. But of course, like any good sequel, this one has to be bigger and better so despite the fact that I'm not done writing, I'm coming to you all to ask for your help.

Last Block Wars I did most of the voice acting on my own, as you could probably tell, so this time I'd like the bit parts to actually be filled by community members. This is a Blockland machinima afterall, it should have collaborations in it! So please, if you think you are at all talented with your voice or just want to speak a small line by a stormtrooper, please feel free to audition in this thread. All I need is a small vocaroo recording of you reading anything (we just need to hear your voice and get a feel for it so we know it'll be right for the production).

If you think you've got the talent (and hopefully the mic quality) there are still a few main characters available:

Lando Calrissian
Boba Fett
The Wampa
Admiral Piett
Admiral Ozzel

Otherwise, there are plenty of stormtroopers and rebel troopers and small characters that you'll probably get a part.

As always, this general discussion topic will serve as the hub of communication for all things Block Wars, but this time around I have created an official production blog where I will be posting tidbits about the production as well as behind the scenes videos that would just clog up this topic (plus it'd spoil the general public some stuff too). So feel free to keep an eye on that and good luck with the voice auditions.

I hope you're all ready for Block Wars 2, you son's of bitches. I'l keep you all updated on things to come.

You are The Traveler. A multidimensional demon with a short temper.

You wear a simple garment you found on some newdead's corpse back in the day-o-sphere. You also conceal your face under a bandanna/scarf combo (it serves to hide what you've been told is a hideous face, and also looks cool in the wind). Your eyes are covered in your demi-goggles, a pair of vision enhancers that serve many different functions.


You are at the cusp of the remnants of what used to be your city.

You haven't left the city since the attack, fearful of what lies out past the wasteland.

You had just finished your hunt when you were bombarded and captured. Now you're held prisoner next to two unruly cave trolls. They're both far away from home and you wonder how exactly it was they got all the way out to the ruins of the demon village.


Standing just beyond you is your captor and newest nemesis, a reaper. You've heard of these vile skeletons before, but have yet to see one in person.

You're carrying your trusty Lexicon (a book written about the creatures of the Void, the second best underworld seller next to the Necronomicon). You have the latest installment and all of the pages are thankfully there (you don't know why you always remind yourself this, but then, there's always bound to be some stuff). Sadly, you can't reach it with your bound hands- though you doubt it would serve any purpose as of late.

Beyond you is the Interfectorum, a blunderbuss with twelve rounds. It's a powerful Void-hunter and takes down anything without a pulse. Sadly, it too is unreachable as the reaper took it from your hands and set it down too far to reach. You've contemplated making a run for it, but your bound hands are an issue as well as you're pretty sure you read once a reaper can vaporize you with one foul stink-eye, so you'd best not risk it. Yet.

You are currently trying to work out a plan but are having little to no luck thinking of one with these trolls heavy breathing and whining next to you. What crimes must they have committed for this reaper to hunt them down? Or for that matter, why is this reaper even doing any arresting anyway, reapers don't uphold the law in these or any parts. Reapers reap souls, it's all they do. Perhaps this one moonlights?

You think long and hard but are stuck. This is surely an interesting pickle you've gotten into today. You ask yourself a time honored tradition:
