What can now be reffed to as the "Duke Nukem Forever" of Blockland machinima, Block Wars has gained a lot of hype and fandom with only 9 minutes of the film released. While it's been two and a halfthree whole years since its initial announcement, we plan to finally (and for certain real) bring you the block (get it) buster hit it should be: sometime this summerwhenever we get it.
Holy star destroyers Batman! Is this really happening?
No. It's not. This is a dream, take note the spinning top. WE NEED TO GO DEEPER.
Alright, but in all seriousness: I've had an idea.
Firstly, let me tell you the state at which the production is in after that super-duper-uper long hiatus of "we no longer gave a forget".
Before we decided that Block Wars was getting no where, we talked of handing the reigns of filming over to myself as Warren had both lost all of the original footage and I could tell he (at least to my understanding) had no longer any interest in the project. That being said, Warren, you are still fully able to be a part of this production again, I am in no way claiming it as my sole own by attempting to complete it. I wouldn't even have those first nine minutes if not for you, and if even if you don't feel like doing this any longer, you're still going to be fully credited as director, writer, and editor, because you were those things as much as I am about to be.
I will say that new scenes have actually been added to the production making it a whopping 20 minutes long as of now. I've gotten to Tatooine and have also shot some Death Egg stuff (thanks to
trooper76 for digging up that old file for me, he was a life saver ((saber?)) with that) so we're getting somewhere, don't fret.
So this brings me for wanting to make this topic. A Block Wars revival if you will.
I've come up with a new method for finishing this faster and more efficient that I can't believe I hadn't thought of three years ago.
In animation you always record the voice acting first before even one frame is drawn or rendered, this is known fact. Machinimas, or at least, semiserious (or in our case feature length) machinimas should be treated like animation for the best effect. Because the actors aren't saying the lines through the game, for all visual purposes it's better if you have your voice track laid out in full so you can know what goes where and when and why.
So this, inevitably, leads me to my final point:
I really, really, really need voice actors.
Located in the bottom section of important links is the full treatment (I believe over sixty pages) of the script in PDF form. If you wish to become a voice actor, you must download it and record yourself saying a few lines for the selected part you want. Please note that over the time of three years that script has gotten written and rewritten so many times that I can't even count the possibility of potential typos or structure errors. Also, the jokes presented in the script may also be three years old, and thus, three years stale (as our senses of humor as 15 year olds have probably changed a bit now that we're 18). Any and all jokes are subject to change, and if you manage to get a part, feel free to improvise if you find you have something funnier to say.
Alright, so now, all of the parts that need filled:
Full call sheet: (crossed out voices are taken)

And I think that's all the main characters. You can be additional voices and play storm troopers or what have you and there are some bit parts you can take if all the mains are filled (and bit parts are actually more important than additional voices).
I want to have your auditions in as soon as possible so I can start assigning roles and get you recording.
For those who have or may soon receive a part: this is actually quite a bit of material, I know, so if you can't record the whole thing in one sitting, that's fine.
So here's to maybe finishing this damn thing so I can get the closure I need and stop going to so much therapy!
May the Latte be with you, always.
Oh actually, Warren made a good point a little bit ago:
Only download the script if you seriously plan on voice acting, because else wise you'll ruin the jokes for you and- SNAPE KILLED DUMBLEDORE.
