Speaking of which, Tingalz, you seem like a nice fellow, I'm sure you have a golden voice that you could use if you were homeless?

Or does that only happen in real life?

if I was on my computer, I would quote every part in the post where it says three years.

Why, I'll do it for you!

three whole years
three years ago.
three years
three years old
three years stale

I never have in gmail and I'm pretty sure it would be fun. Oh. Wait your lookingfor voices... no thanks... :/

You've never acted in gmail? Also, yes, only voices as of now.

Oh man, it's not every day you get to film on a Super 8.

My uncle has an old 16mm in his attic somewhere that I've been itching to grab (as he ain't using it) but I've not bought any film for it as of yet.

Anyway, great job on this though, and also:

What can now be reffed to as the "Duke Nukem Forever" of Blockland machinima, Block Wars has gained a lot of hype and fandom with only 9 minutes of the film released. While it's been two and a halfthree whole years since its initial announcement, we plan to finally (and for certain real) bring you the block (get it) buster hit it should be: sometime this summerwhenever we get it.

Holy star destroyers Batman! Is this really happening?

No. It's not. This is a dream, take note the spinning top. WE NEED TO GO DEEPER.

Alright, but in all seriousness: I've had an idea.

Firstly, let me tell you the state at which the production is in after that super-duper-uper long hiatus of "we no longer gave a forget".

Before we decided that Block Wars was getting no where, we talked of handing the reigns of filming over to myself as Warren had both lost all of the original footage and I could tell he (at least to my understanding) had no longer any interest in the project. That being said, Warren, you are still fully able to be a part of this production again, I am in no way claiming it as my sole own by attempting to complete it. I wouldn't even have those first nine minutes if not for you, and if even if you don't feel like doing this any longer, you're still going to be fully credited as director, writer, and editor, because you were those things as much as I am about to be.

I will say that new scenes have actually been added to the production making it a whopping 20 minutes long as of now. I've gotten to Tatooine and have also shot some Death Egg stuff (thanks to trooper76 for digging up that old file for me, he was a life saver ((saber?)) with that) so we're getting somewhere, don't fret.

So this brings me for wanting to make this topic. A Block Wars revival if you will.

I've come up with a new method for finishing this faster and more efficient that I can't believe I hadn't thought of three years ago.

In animation you always record the voice acting first before even one frame is drawn or rendered, this is known fact. Machinimas, or at least, semiserious (or in our case feature length) machinimas should be treated like animation for the best effect. Because the actors aren't saying the lines through the game, for all visual purposes it's better if you have your voice track laid out in full so you can know what goes where and when and why.

So this, inevitably, leads me to my final point: I really, really, really need voice actors.

Located in the bottom section of important links is the full treatment (I believe over sixty pages) of the script in PDF form. If you wish to become a voice actor, you must download it and record yourself saying a few lines for the selected part you want. Please note that over the time of three years that script has gotten written and rewritten so many times that I can't even count the possibility of potential typos or structure errors. Also, the jokes presented in the script may also be three years old, and thus, three years stale (as our senses of humor as 15 year olds have probably changed a bit now that we're 18). Any and all jokes are subject to change, and if you manage to get a part, feel free to improvise if you find you have something funnier to say.

Alright, so now, all of the parts that need filled:

Full call sheet: (crossed out voices are taken)
BARTENDER
BASE VOICE
BERU
BONES
COMMANDER
CREATURE
DODANNA
FIRST TROOPER
GUARD
GENERAL
GENERAL 2
GENERAL 3
GOLD LEADER
GREEDO
HAN
HUMAN
INTERCOM
KIRK
LEIA
LEIA
LUKE
MOTTI
N1GR
OBI-WAN
OFFICER
OTHER TROOPER
OWEN
creepBACCA
PORKINS
R2D2 doesn't really count
REBEL
REBEL TROOPER
RED EIGHT
RED LEADER
RED ONE
RED SIX
SECOND OFFICER
SECOND TROOPER
SPOCK
STORMTROOPER
SULU
TECHNICIAN
TROOPER
VADER
WEDGE
WILLARD

And I think that's all the main characters. You can be additional voices and play storm troopers or what have you and there are some bit parts you can take if all the mains are filled (and bit parts are actually more important than additional voices).

I want to have your auditions in as soon as possible so I can start assigning roles and get you recording.

For those who have or may soon receive a part: this is actually quite a bit of material, I know, so if you can't record the whole thing in one sitting, that's fine.

So here's to maybe finishing this damn thing so I can get the closure I need and stop going to so much therapy!

May the Latte be with you, always.

tl;dr I need voice actors, download the script if you want to audition for a part

Oh actually, Warren made a good point a little bit ago:

Only download the script if you seriously plan on voice acting, because else wise you'll ruin the jokes for you and- SNAPE KILLED DUMBLEDORE.

Oh and then you said to sue him too. Sue him for legally purchasing an item that was for sale by its respected purchasers. Judge Judy would stuff all over you.

Ya'll's dumb.

Clearly the problem here is that no one wants to take the time to think.

It's a lot to take in, sure, but if you actually take into consideration everything he described, it's a pretty neat system.

However war hammer wasn't always my cup of tea when it came to tabletop games. DnD is where it's at. Although I have a friend much into the 40k series especially, but he is not on the forums to talk to you. lol

Tell your parents it was yours and that since it is YOURS then you should've had a say in it. If they dont call the guy or look for him sue them.

Mom, I know you bought and paid for this xbox and all of its games, and in no way did I contribute to it in any other way than playing it, which in turn added a little bit extra to your electric bill, and a little bit more annoyance to you because I ignored my chores to play it. However, despite the fact that most people would consider this your property and that you have the right as a parent to punish me for ignoring said chores in the ways you see fit, I hereby demand that the xbox in question is in fact my property and should be rightfully returned to my room.

Also, hey mom, me and some friends were thinking of going to a children's rights riot later today.

What do you mean I can't go?

The Man is hurting on me! The Man is hurting on me!

Then I say to you sir, actually try.

This was an awful story that was without anything that even remotely resembled a plot.

Also, it came from the Scary Stories topic. That wasn't even a good pointless ghost story. It wasn't scary. The only thing that made it a "ghost story" was that someone died and became one.

taboo where did you get that story?

That's a story I believe to be called Guts by Chuck Palahniuk, the same author of Fight Club.

I don't understand the circumstance. Why is an old woman living with the narrator if she has a husband? What caused her to pick up smoking? When she wasn't up by 2 I would have instantly assumed death and began to worry, not wait for her to wake up. Why the over use of improper grammar? Like is to be used when describing something or as a simile not to say "she was, like, dead."

There was no need for this story to exist, it goes far beyond what Solid said, it wasn't bland, it was dumb and pointless on top of being bland.

I'm not trying to be so mean toward you, I'm just saying this isn't really a story and using the old "I didn't 'try' to make this ... took me only 5-10 minutes" line is no excuse.

To quote a great movie: "You know everything is not an anecdote. You have to discriminate. You choose things that are funny or mildly amusing or interesting.  ...  Here's a good idea - have a POINT. It makes it SO much more interesting for the listener! "
