I have the first model Oneplus 64gb sandstone black.
However, If you get one then update it to lollipop as soon as possible.
I experienced some frequent crashes on 4.4.4 and any app with multithread-rendering enabled crashes almost instantly.
Lollipop fixed all these issues.

I think it has backwards compatibility, But you won't get better performance on old 3ds games as the clockspeed is pretty much the same.

As for new features/games i think its a decent investment.
And if i was right and it is backwards compatible then you won't loose your older games.
