I have a windows phone and it loving sucks and it was a horrible idea to get it
luckily I'm about to get a new phone soon and I need help deciding

here are my criteria:
  • the best loving phone camera ever
  • compatible with an app store that doesn't have only five apps
  • a screen so big it'll be hard to fit in my pocket
  • an internet browser/video player that doesn't make me want to loving kill myself
  • a long-ass battery that doesn't drain in an hour
  • popular enough so that I don't have to search the dark web for cool phone cases
  • able to give it the knee without cracking the screen
  • good loving speakers and a headphone jack baybee
  • fast and sleek and simple as forget
  • budget what the forget is a budget I ain't got time for that

I'm gonna add models to a poll as you suggest them

so I'm on vacation skiing from last Saturday to this Saturday
when you ski you wear these heavy-ass boots that lock at the ankles so your shin and your foot are at close to a 90 degree angle with some wiggle room to slide your foot back and forth in the boot
anyways I got fitted for boots and they fit pretty well but about one or two days in and I can't feel my big toe on my right foot, I can feel the top of it but the tip and the bottom are completely numb
I try cutting my toenails (what you're supposed to do) and going into the hot tub and applying heat to it, and it's slowly coming back, but now there's a new problem
I wake up today and every once in a while when I lift up onto the ball of my feet something in the ball shifts and I can feel it moving from the ball of my foot all the way up into the middle of the bottom of my big toe
I didn't hit my foot on anything, I didn't fall weird, I was wearing proper footwear the whole time, so this is completely random to me

what is this
I checked and it doesn't look like it's sesamoiditis because that seems like a chronic thing and this just popped up when I woke up this morning

here's the gist
  • a literal but well-needed safe space was set up in cologne (germany) for victims of loveual assault, and patrols were increased, people still got loveually assaulted but less so
  • a bunch of people attacked german emergency services with fireworks and bottles and other things, an ambulance crew even got threatened with guns at one point
  • cars were torched in france, but don't worry, it was only just under 1,000
  • police were also attacked in france and, in particular, a female cop and her boss were attacked on film and the footage was uploaded online by the attackers for your viewing pleasure
  • if it isn't obvious to you who did all of this don't worry, it'll come to you eventually if you think hard enough about it

Off Topic / The 2018 Golden Globes are on and they didn't take the hint from the Emmys

My parents are watching the Golden Globes right now and I caught a glimpse of the opening monologue by Seth Meyers. They haven't learned anything from the Emmys, in which everything was political and because of that no one watched it. The whole bit Meyers did was joke after joke about white privilege and he even threw it to the crowd, who made the exact same type of jokes. He even threw it to Amy
Poehler who made a joke about mansplaining and followed it up with probably the worst pun I've ever heard.

I'm not gonna watch the rest of it but I wouldn't be surprised if they give out a bunch of diversity-hire awards and have a bunch of dumbass political monologues shooting at Annoying Orange. I believe they said that there are political activists in the audience and Meyers spent a long time praising Tom Hanks and crew for that WaPo movie.

Friendly reminder to Hollywood that the last Emmys were the least watched I think ever and that the movie industry is seeing their lowest numbers in several decades. I wonder why...

This is a sequel to the graphics card topic I posted a while back. I ordered the graphics card replacement Tuesday night from Newegg. In particular, I ordered it with rush processing and next business day shipping in order to get it here before I leave tomorrow on vacation so that I can install it and get it working to see if I have to send it back or not. The shipping costs were about an extra 10% of the cost of the chip, and altogether I ended up adding $20+ to the $120 price tag. I had Newegg's confirmation that it was going to be at my house the next day. FedEx, on the other hand, thought otherwise.

I've been tracking my package for the past three days. Before we talk about the route FedEx took, we should talk about where I am relative to the supplier: about an hour away. That's also where the shipping location it is. It's not the closest shipping location to my house, but it shouldn't be hard for them to get the package (which is priority mail, as per the money I paid for shipping) to the closest shipping location to my house. It seems perfectly logical that it would be at my house, if not Wednesday, then really early in the morning Thursday.

Here's the actual route it took. I ordered the card late on Tuesday, with rush processing. Newegg was done processing the order very quickly and sent the information to FedEx Wednesday afternoon at 2:23 PM. At 9:51 PM, the card was somehow picked up by FedEx at a location different than the location of the warehouse. At 11:23 PM, it arrived at the location it was supposed to be picked up at. I had my doubts that the card was actually going to show up the day after I ordered it, but FedEx wasn't loving done yet.

The next day, a blizzard hit. I was worried that the mail would be delayed, so I checked FedEx's website for delays and noticed no delays or halts to mail at all in my area. Early Thursday morning, at 3:52 AM, the package left the shipping center and went BACK to the location it was picked up at, which is a 15-minute drive away from the warehouse but it took them 4 hours to get there. It moved AWAY from my house. So I got annoyed and I waited for them to ship out, but they never did, despite being an HOUR away from my house and reporting NO delays whatsoever.

But wait, there's more; FRIDAY MORNING at 3:29 AM they finally did something, but I don't know whether to congratulate them or not, because the package left the shipping location and traveled PAST MY HOUSE to a shipping location OUT OF STATE, arriving there at 5:03 AM. At 2:00 PM, the truck left the facility to be delivered to my house. That was FOUR loving HOURS AGO, and the facility is about FORTY MINUTES AWAY. NOW, the tracker is telling me it'll be here TOMORROW, WHICH IS WHAT I WAS TRYING TO loving AVOID THIS WHOLE TIME.

I understand this may be an massively exaggerated problem, but how the forget is this acceptable? This was PRIORITY loving MAIL and they're dancing around my house like they're TAUNTING me or something and all the while I could've gone to the supplier MYSELF and it would have been INFINITELY faster. What kind of loving business model is this where people spend $20+ to get the best spot in line and then they get stuff on worse than the people who pay for regular loving mail? I could've paid jack stuff for shipping if I knew that FedEx didn't give a stuff about whether or not it ACTUALLY got to my house when Newegg told me it would.

So there you go. I wasted $20+ because of some bureaucratic loving NIGHTMARE, my brand new graphics card is going to sit out in the ice and snow for a loving WEEK, and I'm sitting here this whole time feeling personally insulted. forget. FedEx.

Drama / Gray Gums's Fort Wars - Take Three

INCIDENT/OFFENSE

So by now, we all know this guy. I was particularly excited about his return because his insults are the best out of anyone from this game and this forum. I have my favorite out of the whole bunch sigged. Red Spy and I met up and went to his server to see how fast we could get banned by just minding our own business.

The server is the same as it always has been. I spawned in a pit with five other people, and there were weapons at the edges of the pit. There were fifteen explosions going off at any given moment and brick damage was on, so stuff was flying everywhere. There was one guy ("AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH" or something like that) who had laid a baseplate down, spawned a jet, flown off and crashed, then spawned back at the same baseplate, and had laid down another baseplate and spawned another jet and flew off, then did it again when he crashed that jet. There were two admins besides Gray Gums there, and neither of them was doing anything substantiative to help organize the server. As always, no one had any idea what the rules were.

I spawned a good five minutes before Red joined. Gray recognized me almost immediately, but he seemed to have reformed himself. No insults, and just told me that he had the fort I had built previously saved. I politely declined and buildbotted my Twin Bunker fort, which was made specifically for brick damage being on. Red joined and built his floaty kill base, and we started fighting.

Deceased Box soon joined. He's a Fort Wars host as well. Wacka is an admin that Gray Gums probably appointed. Upon spawning, Deceased gets killed repeatedly, so he gives himself jets in order to get somewhere to build his fort. Gray Gums tells him he can't do that.








Then, Gray Gums allegedly starting breaking his own rules, left and right. I have no idea. No one really knew what the rules were.






Finally came the best loving part: Gray Gums, for whatever reason, starts teleporting me and Red into his base and killing us. Nothing in the chat suggests that he was going to do this. It was completely random.

People start getting on Gray Gums's case, and almost immediately he starts banning people for ridiculous reasons. He bans someone for an hour for "buildkilling" despite previously banning buildkillers for one minute. Then it gets nuts.






You are reading that right, he banned Red for supposedly doing to him what he was doing to us, despite neither of us having admin.

Finally, I get my ban reason:




CONCLUSION

You all loving need to get on this guy's server right loving now. This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you cannot pass up. I'm dead serious. Just go and mind your own business and see how quickly it devolves into a stuffshow. Don't even mention the drama or anything. I want to hear what happens.

In all honesty, I made this drama for many reasons. One of the more prevalent ones, if Gray Gums is reading, is that I'm severely disappointed in him. I had my hopes and they were crushed by this experience.

Not ONE mention of Payless shoes. Really, Gray? REALLY?
