I knew all that already, that's why I was asking for sometime in support of banning it to explain it in their own words

And yeah misinformation is so widespread. "AR-15" was trending on Twitter last night and I browsed around a bit before I quit out of disappointment. This one guy was like "why does a civilian need such a large caliber" and it's just like what? .223 is loving tiny caliber

even then large calibers are good to have because even though real life isn't like The Division where you fire at an attacker for five minutes and then he decides to fall over dead, sometimes attackers are so big that they can be shot with smaller bullets and still keep going

does that make owning a .50 cal machine gun reasonable? no
does that mean we should ban anything above pea-shooting levels? also no

They were neighbors after all, and disputes between neighbors are common.

he was not dishonorably discharged. he was discharged for bad conduct for abusing his wife and child, which means that he could still legally own and acquire firearms.

Kelley was discharged from the Air Force in 2014, according to Defense Department records. Kelley was court-martialed in November 2012 for assaulting his wife and their child. A judge sentenced him with a bad-conduct discharge, 12 months confinement, and two reductions in rank to basic airman, according to an appeals court decision in 2013 that affirmed the decision against Kelley.

I don't get how that's not a dishonorable discharge, but whatever. The guy was stopped by a private citizen with a shotgun. The point still stands that gun control is useless.
