the conservative philosophy is not "forget the poor they can do everything themselves without our help", it's "we need to help these people, but we need to make sure they don't become dependent on us so that they can move forward on their own"

we get more people contributing to the economy and paying taxes, plus they get to live a good life without drug cartels threatening their children & they can put their children through school and make a life for themselves
its almost as if its a... win win
like no one who's saying "get rid of the illegals" is saying "also, in tandem with that, make it easier to come here"
