I haven't read into the situation, but I have a feeling that it wasn't just one dev who went full handicap, but rather several varying actions by various devs that have disappointed the, well, non-ignorant fanbase.
Am I correct?

how long does it take?
it can take a while if you're not comfortable or in the right frame of mind.
Also, floating is definitely something you're gonna feel.
in fact, when you're aware during sleep paralysis, you should feel absolutely nothing but tingling.
or something like that.
