Modification Help / Re: %player.setInvincibleMode ?
« on: October 28, 2007, 04:40:38 PM »
Try it with different parameters, because it could be ms, and 25ms isn't much.
I didn't post it, but I have tried 25000 instead of 25 for the first arg, but that still results to nothing good.
Besides, according to the guide in which I originally found this function in, the time arg is in seconds...

Oh well, any other suggestions?

Modification Help / %player.setInvincibleMode ?
« on: October 28, 2007, 04:34:30 PM »
You see, I'm having a problem with the .setInvincibleMode method.
The thing is, it doesn't seem to work at all.

I make a minigame with all types of damage on, and a turret brick on the other side of a "wall" brick, to test with.
I open the mission editor, find the Object ID of my player, close the mission editor, then I open the console and type:
Code: [Select]
%PLAYER_OBJ_ID.setInvincibleMode(25, 0.5);
No errors are reported in the console, but nothing happens.

You see, this SHOULD make my screen flash blue, and I should be invincible. Instead, I end up pseudo-suiciding via turret.

What am I doing wrong here?
I want to know how to make this work correctly, so I can make an item which makes you invincible...

*Note: setInvincibleMode(%time, %blinkRate) is reported as a valid method through a %player.dump(); .

Modification Help / Re: Changing colors
« on: October 28, 2007, 04:12:15 PM »
One thing Gikon forgot to mention is that there are 2 different places to color-shift in.
The first place is in the Item datablock, and the second place is in the WeaponImage datablock.
In the Item DB, the color-shift only affects the pick-up-able item and its inventory picture.
The WeaponImage DB, however, affects the actual item that you hold. It also usually piggy-backs on the Item's colorshift, as Gikon was showing you.

Drama / Re: Well Off-topic has gone to ice cream and it only took 2 days
« on: October 28, 2007, 08:45:08 AM »
Being banned during stuff like this sucks, lol.
Otherwise I could've provided backup. XD

But here's what I seem to be getting from all of this pseudo-epic stuff:

  • IBanX is acting more 'tard like, pissing more people off. 99% of everyone (myself included,) wants him banned.
  • Ace (no! not you!) and Spartan300 have left because of Iban's aforementioned handicapped-ness.
  • Off-topic has reached a new low.
  • OSHT's are flying around the place like crazy.
Correct me if I'm wrong fact-wise. I need a good summary. XD

I have to say, this is just plain great.
Well, I'll have an interesting shot at IBanX later, next time I find him, then I plan on ignoring him forever. Total ignorance of anything he says from the point I say what I want to say to him.
I suggest that others do the same, as in the ignoring part. Seriously, don't feed the troll. Ignorance is the best way to deal with someone who's pissing you off on the internet, when "Report to Moderator" doesn't seem to have much effect.

Epic fail tutorial.
Seriously, you have to learn to do something well BEFORE you tell others how to do it.

Mapping Help / Re: mission editor
« on: October 13, 2007, 12:47:37 PM »
In order:

1. Extract mission editor .RAR to your Blockland folder.

2. Your editor folder should look somewhat like this:

3. No clue. The target thing is right, you must've extracted wrong.

4. No, but you need it to extract the mission editor, or 7Zip...

Granted, but you said:
that this topic must die
And therefore you die along with the rest of those other people.

I wish for every-single-universe-ever-wide peace.

Off Topic / Re: The origins of your name.
« on: October 13, 2007, 10:00:10 AM »
Now here's a long one for ya:

My very first name on the interwebs was Videog133, but that was on some useless game site. I sometimes still use that name when I need a second identity.

Anywho, my "second" name was KirbylikesVid, which was the name I used on the first forum I ever joined, Animal Crossing Community (Yes, that was my first one, lol.) This name came from the fact that I liked Kirby at the time, (and still do lol) and Vid was the name of my Animal crossing town. So the name was good for that forum.

Eventually, I started going to other things, and I decided I needed a better name for the interwebs, that was moar universal. I then asked for help on a different forum, and someone came up with "KirbylikesIt". I decided to stick with that as a name for universal purposes, and to use other "sub-names" for certain places. In other words, things like "KirbylikesPoG" (Don't ask, lol.)

Here's a quote from that first forum on the origin of "KirbylikesVid":
Quote from:  KirbylikesVid's Profile on ACC
I'm sure you know Kirby, right? You know, pink dude, made by Nintendo? I like him, or is Kirby a her?
I'm proud (well, not exactly...) of my towns, both named Vid. I want Kirby to like my town. BAM! You understand, right?

And that's it. I hope I interested you for 5 minutes :P

WinZip 11.1 offers a thumbnail image view and automatic compression selection, plus improved compression for audio files (WAV) and the ability to open .BZ2 and .RAR files.

Lol wut?

Modification Help / Re: vehicle animations
« on: October 13, 2007, 09:42:40 AM »
Just so you know, all animations are done through special modeling.

I honestly can't model for crap, but I know animations (both types) are done through modeling. Then the script for the vehicle makes the spacebar type of animations work. The other type just does it automatically if you remembered to export the animation for the .dts conversion.

Help / Re: offline mode?
« on: October 13, 2007, 09:05:28 AM »
I've tried number 1 and 2...i'll try 3 as soon as I can. You mean just hit the reset button on the back?(the one you need to hit with a toothpick?)
Yes, the little tiny button thar.

Just remember that it will kick everyone off the router, and reset all default settings (I.E. your WEP key will get changed back to the default and stuff).
You will have to re-log-on to your router and fix your settings to work right again.
If that doesn't work then your router is probably broken.

And another suggestion: If your router is plugged straight into a wall outlet, get a surge protector for it. Do this especially if you live in a stormy area and stuff. A surge protector can save your router from frying due to power interruptions.
